Alas that there's no area dedicated to audio, I'm here for lack of a more appropriate place.

I'm posting for a couple of reasons, one is to encourage feedback from anyone who is willing to give it and hasn't, the other is to respond to some of the criticism it's already gotten.

As of this date, I've released 3 pieces of audio. From newest to oldest, those would be:
http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=391662
http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=389714

When I did the first one, it was using audio that was really horribly recorded -- signal from the built-in mic in a webcam. It was very low-fi, mono, and distorted like mad when things got loud. It also required some editing, which sounded a bit obtrusive. I fixed these problems by mixing some appropriate music with the audio, that made the blemishes subjectively a lot more tolerable.

Some people loved this one, others wanted the music at a lower level. I dropped the music volume on subsequent releases.

For the second one, I came up with a slightly better recording setup -- medium-fi mono. There was a TON of noise in the recording venue, however, and extensive editing was needed. Once again, music to the rescue.

The last of my literotica releases, and all of my (as yet) unpublished material, was recorded in crystal clear stereo. The venues were nice and quiet, and I was able to keep most of the editing from being obtrusive. It sounds great with no music, but by now another concern is coming into play.

This stuff sounds better than most of the commercial CDs of erotic sounds out there. It's also better than the soundtracks of most commercial porn. If I release the raw audio here, I think the chances of it being pirated, edited, and exploited commercially are very high. And, dammit, if anyone's going to exploit my work commercially, it's going to be me.

So I released it mixed with music which is licensed only for non-commercial use. If someone wants to hijack it, they will be unable to edit it easily because of the background music, and they will be getting sued by a record company as well as by me.

So far, two people have commented on it, both wanted the music gone. Regardless of whatever criticism I may get for that, it's never going to change, for the reasons given above.

That said, I welcome input from any and all who wish to give it.
