My 1st Poetry Contest

I'm entering my first poetry contest. It's just a local one. But, I am having trouble deciding which poems to submit. I can submit 3 poems.

I think my "Dream from Grandpa" villanelle should be included. That's the only one that I am sure that I want to include.

Other than that
Maybe my sonnet, "Eternal Sunrise."

Hi Sheila.

I rather like Nature's Guest. To me it is well-written with strong images, but I don't know what the contest rules are. Are they looking for form poetry or free verse? Maybe that doesn't matter. I think if we knew a bit more about the contest, you'd get more informed opinions.

I thought "To Juvenile Offenders..." was pretty strong.

As Ange said, it really depends on the specifics of the contest. Some things go over well in one venue but not another.
