Jane Eyre opened at the Brooks Atkinson Theater in December, I believe. I haven't had the chance to see it performed yet, but the cast recording is really wonderful. It's produced by a lot of the same team from Les Mis if I'm not mistaken.
The buzz on Eric Idle's Seussical: the Musical is that it's hilarious from all I know who've seen it. It's playing at the Richard Rodgers I think.
Off Broadway at the Anspacher Theatre, there is a one-man solo called "Shakespeare's Villians: A Masterclass in Evil" and a few of my friends saw that and really dug it.
Those are the only things I've heard buzz on. Playbill.com sometimes has links and information, too.
I wish Cats was still open, Cheeky. Unforunately, the last show date at the Winter Garden Theater was September 10th, 2000. *g* Yes, I am a Big Broadway Fan.
And, I'm very sorry to announce, but I'm not sure exactly what's playing in New York right now. There are many, many titles I'm familiar with. Let's see..
There's always RENT, which is great fun. It's about living in New York and breaking all the "social rules." There's also Miss Saigon, if you're up for a very wonderful sad show. It's top-notch.
Other than that, like I said, I'm not sure what's showing. If you need any other information about Broadway, theater, or dancing, feel free to contact me. *blushes* I'm an aspiring Broadway performer, so... *blushes again*
you got to see the New yorker Bronx version of Jesus Christ Super Star. They had a little piece of it on a morning show a week ago. Damn Mary was showing more skin than a playboy centerfold. Spandex, Latex and leather made up the majority of the wardrobe, and all of it tight on the owmen anyway. Come to think of it i didn't see any males?!?!?
