From about now until the end of the year, I will listen to little else besides Christmas music. I admit I'm a sucker for the season and all the beautiful music. What's your favorite music for the holidays?

I love "Oh come, all ye Faithful." You'll find me humming it quite a bit if you ever run into me in RL. :)

I also just got the new Mannheim Steamroller Christmas cd as an early gift. Less traditional, but I still love their holiday music!

My favorite has always been " Silent Night " I heard the Harlem Boys Choir do it once and it made me cry... Beautiful!!!

I don't have a favorite, I love all Christmas music. I will listen while decorating, wrapping presents, baking cookies, etc...The music, to me, brings back the true meaning of Christmas. :)

I try to tune it out.... but I start hummin it on my way home from work, while I make dinner, in the shower........................ Somebody hhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllppppppppppp me

Ah, another of my favorites! Nothing like belting out a few "Glorias" in the car on the way to work in the morning! It's a really old tape now, but I still love the Amy Grant Christmas album version of this one.

I have two favorites, one for fun and one that is more traditional.

Carole of the Bells

I want a hippopatamus for Christmas

Favorite- Carol of the Bells- TransSiberian Orchestra. The CD of Christmas music by the same group is basically in every cd player in this house. My family liked it so much, I had to burn copies for them.

Hi, Cheye

I get a little down about this time of year...I remember the way Christmas songs used to get me in the Joy, but I don't think I've felt it since maybe '82...

I think I also notice the years go by so much quicker...

Don't think I'm a scrooge, I think I spread it out all year round, and X-mas is not as much of a climaxe to the Year...

Same thing with my birthday...I look more forward to the day I met my Best Friend, and we both forgot that this year

I hate it but

some of it reflects the way I have felt in the past

Lonely this Christmas-Mud
Blue Christmas - Elvis
Silver Bells
Please Daddy don't get drunk this Christmas -John Denver
On a lighter note
White Christmas -Elvis (only he could get away with this
Mistletoe and wine -Cliff Richard Keep humming the damn thing
Anything juicylips likes cos if she likes it so do I lol

'Tis the season

because i am just a big kid at heart, i like listening to my off-the-wall Christmas music from the radio i taped years and years ago.
all the wild and wooly songs from Dr Demento's radio broadcasts from way back.
i especially like the porky pig version of Blue blue christmas.
my wife thinks i am crazy, but she listens to Alvin and the Chipmunk christmas cd's. i like them too.
i also enjoy the newer country songs coming out now.

Gosh Cheyenne that must have been you I passed on the street the other day;)

Just teasing, I really do love Christmas music, mostly the traditiional stuff but all of it really.....:)all the way up till new years!!

How about the one that goes ..Granma got run over by a rain deer..or walking around in womens underware

Here's my list of favorite albums:
The Roger Whittaker Christmas Album
Nat King Cole's Christmas Favorites
Kenny G's Miracles, the holiday album
Darren Curtis Skanson's Angels, Guitars & Joy

All except Roger Whittaker's feature traditional Christmas songs. The baritone voices of Whittaker and Cole make their albums particularly refreshing to me. Whittaker's album has quite a bit of music that deserves to be traditional. It is a real treat.

The instrumentals of Kenny G's clarinet and Skanson's acoustic guitar provide the background for some gentle moments...sipping hot cider...the falling snow reflecting the decorative lights on the trees outside...a happy fire crackling it's own merry wishes...

Merry Christmas Cheyenne

Dating myself...

Well, growing up I had a vinyl album of "A Bonanza Christmas"! I wore it out, but it had the cast of the TV show singing some traditional and some "new" Xmas songs. My fave was "Adam" singing "New Born King".

My favorite holiday song is "Silver Bells". Gives me the feel of walking through the City streets, looking in the department store windows and seeing the tree at Rockefeller Center.:)

Christmas isn't the climax to the year, for me it is the celebration of the beginning, a birthday!

You're not old enough to be noticing how quickly the years fly by. ;)

Almost 20 years since you've felt the Joy of Christmas? Hmmmm.. you were just a small child then. I think that's what I love about Christmas most- the children. There's always the little girl who gets up in front of church to sing with the wee ones and instead yanks that dress up over her face. Or the little boy who insists on singing the loudest, even if he is tone deaf. They are all so cute! If you have lost the Christmas spirit, find children to share it with. They make all the difference in the world.

And I have another favorite song to add to the list- "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing!"

I like anything from the forties or fifties. I guess it's the harmonizing or the beat of the time. I get a warm feeling when I hear Bing Crosby singing, "White Christmas". Also I like christmas themed musicals from the old days.
Nothing new lights my candle...ho,ho,ho! :D

I love hearing 'Emmanuel' played by bells and organ.

To me it means midnight mass, being with my family and the beauty of Christmas.
