FM Radio, that crochety old dinosaur, finally has some competition. At least two independent companies already have or are about to launch satellites specifically for the purpose of beaming almost commercial free digital music into your car or home.

The quality and variety will be similar to what digital cable or television satellite subscribers already have access to, but at less cost and with no connection to those companies.

You can find the info on the web. The companies are Sirius Radio and XM Radio.

You're better than raspberry salsa!

Is it any wonder I think you clever as well as cute?!? I will be checking that out asap so I can stop being a slave to da man via radiowaves!

This one tears me up. I love the digital music my dish provides to my house and the web radio stations that are also commercial free and to have that available in the car would be awesome. However, I am a fan of talk radio, and I also make quite a bit of extra spending money doing commercial voice-overs.

God this will keep me up all night! Thank you ssooooooooo much for the news!

Drats, rats, and Democrats!

I should have been much mo specific. One, don't remember which, will have 100 channels, only 50 of which will be music (Beethoven to BeeGees to Beck) and the rest will be talk radio, entertainment, sports and so on. Be happy, you might make even more money, because while there will be a lot less ads per hour per channel, there will be many more channels, tahdah more money for you?!

PS
Cheerios, you are too kind! Bwess you! :D

Now if I could become a nationally-syndicated talk radio show host...

Man that would be great. The only thing holding me back would be putting on controversial material, like what we see here every day.

Oh, Howard's got that one locked up...

I'll keep looking.
