Everyone loves music. To dance to, write to, clean to, drive to, and so on and so forth. But, what is good music to play to?
I suppose it depend on what type of play your into. To stimulate your sense of hearing, can be highly erotic and mood setting. Teleporting you to whatever head space either party wants to be in.
By becoming transfixed from the orchestra of the scene, physical sensations, emotions and the sound of the music resonating, can prove to be a memorable experience one would want to duplicate over and over again.
I have looked online to find out what others have discovered to be good play music, and have been quite disappointed at the results. A lot of what I have found is music that contains a lot of lyrics, or a lot of techno. I love music for its rhythm and what is being said, but find it is difficult to submerge oneself into a scene, when, "Let's play master and servant" is rambling on in one's ears.
I love Depeche Mode, but i don't think its the type of music to set a scene and mood. Techno is great for some scene or part of a scene, but for for the entire play session?
So I thought I would ask here, what type of music do you listen to during a play scene? What mind frame does the music you listen to put you in?
These are some of my favorites,
Enigma- Anything by them
Portished- Machine Gun, Glory Box
Delerium- Soapbox Opera, Silence,
ACHILLEA- Vivir, El Alma Herida, Atacame
Collide- Tempted, Wing of Steel
Deftones- Tempest, You've Seen The Butcher, Change, My Own Summer
In This Moment- Whore, Blood
Nine Inch Nails- Closer, Head Like A Hole, Hurt
30 Seconds T Mars- Hurricane, Stranger In a Strange Land
Classical and Opera's- The flower's Duet, O Fortuna-CarminaBurana, Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata , Chopin's Waltz #3 in A Minor, Adagio, and a few others, Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor, organ.
They are many more, but these are my favorites. They pull me into a type of "Zen" state. Combining this with a play scene is incredible. Let me hear your thoughts and tastes.
