Muscle Heads and Work-Out Fanatics...I need your help!

Okay...hi. :) I've had the start of a story from a long time ago (I think it was from a request here at Lit for a revenge-rape story...), but I was at a stand still due to my "NEED" for detail.

One of my scenes is going to involve a home gym. I need to find out what the "real" name is to a certain machine. I could try to describe it in the story as best I can, but I feel if I had the name of the machine, as well, that would be wonderful.

Okay, so the machine is as follows:

There are actually two different machines that work different muscle groups. They are both in the setting of chairs. The weights are hooked up in the back of the chair and there is a pin that can be moved to add an additional 10lbs with each weight. One machine works your inner thighs. You sit in the chair, and at first your legs are spread. You work against the weights to close your legs. The second chair is the opposite where you work your outter thighs by trying to spread your legs open.

Does anyone here know the name of this/these chair(s)? One friend told me it's called something like Butterfly Weights. I'm not sure if that's a "nickname" of such that Gym rats know it as, or if that's an actual name. Anyone know for certain?

Thank you. ;)

Those are pieces of Nautilus equipment, the ABDUCTOR and the ADDUCTOR station. The abductor works out the outer muscles, the ones that pull your legs open. The adductor works the inner thigh muscles that pull your legs closed.

A great resource for musculature is the following link:

Find pics of the Nautilus machines here:

Hope that helps!

:D

 on the cheek.

No probs. Nice to see that someone out there likes to know what she's talking about before she hits the send button and posts a story.

I've always been a detail fanatic! ;) It's my curse. Hell, right now, I have many pieces of paper (notes seem to be long hang) with either potential character names so I can choose from a list of ones I like, or details of events, and various facts... It almost makes me wish I paid attention in History growing up now! ;)

Highschool is only four years. You have a lifetime to pursue the knowledge you need. Harbour no regrets.

I'd rather set my own curriculum anyway.

Actually, I've enjoyed "studying" History at my own pace since I've gotten the net. Research can be quite fun at times. :)
