The earthbound variation is called Muggle Quidditch. The sport originated in 2005 when a student at Middlebury College adapted the game for the nonmagical world. Its popularity quickly spread, and today more than 150 colleges throughout the United States have Quidditch teams.

It had to happen (watch the video until the end - well worth it :D ).

bwahahaha..that is to good to pass up to give to other people. *evil woman*

I am glad to see they made the points system less ridiculous. That was my main gripe with Quiddich in the books/movies.

Looks like ridiculous fun :D

We've had a team at my college for a while now. :D Sadly, they formed just after I left, so I couldn't participate.

Obviously, the Muggles have pissed off the Hogwarts alumni.

Not only did the video load with many fits and starts, at one point it was paused on a rear shot of the brown broom end protuding from between a young man's legs while the the little "clock" swept around and around his ass!

Subtle, the spell wasn't...

another sign of the apocalypse

What, the media coverage?

Dude at the end of the pep talk said the important words...

"Above all else, we're gonna have fun!"

I could totally see this as being a blast... if you get rid of the brooms. Sorry, I want to see people dodging and passing the quaffle right before the keeper takes them down... ya know, some ability for playmaking.

The brooms just get in the way.

I'm all for the drunken, muddy silliness factor though. The world needs more of that.
