MTV debuted today on August 1, 1981

Cashing in on a new form of popular entertainment, the MTV network debuts, complete with video jockeys introducing music videos, a way of both listening to and watching popular songs

And it has taken almost 35 years for real musicians to finally be appreciated again. Keep your pretty boys and girls that need autotune. Keep your samplers. If they can't perform live using someone else's acoustic guitar...they ain't worth shit

I can live with that...but some of the best covers were not done by the original artist

Wasn't that the first vid ever played on MTV?

possibly, i believe that trevor horn shouldve been burnt at the stake for what he did to Yes. he is a fairly good producer though in fairness.
