Here's the deal.

I've been using MSN messenger for some weeks now. Everything worked fine.

But yesterday when I tried to log on, I got a message displaying that the log-in failed because either I wrote a wrong user-name or I had the wrong password.

The thing is, I'm sure both is right. I even logged onto my NET-passport profile. Everything worked. Just the messenger won'T let me in. :(

Anyone got any idea what could be the problem? Or does anyone know how to create a new profile on msn to maybe get the messenger to work under the new identity?

My MSN was busted for about 3 days this week. I'd log in, and the login would take a really long time, and then before it properly logged in, it would freeze, and I'd have to "end task" to close it.

I put it down to the MSN server being busted for a while. It's working again just fine now.

Ok, MSN messenger can be a real pain in the butt. Everything you enter is case sensitive. Make sure you have password enter it. If it doesn't work. Contact Mircosoft Tech support or re register.

I was getting the "this page cannot be accessed" message. Then it would kick in.

Weird.

Yeah, the login is sometimes seriously messed up.

You could try to uninstall then download the latest version and reinstall.

I've had the same problems on and off with MSN ever since upgrading to the 7.0 version and subsequent beta version updates. Maybe it's the newer version that's causing the problems?

Ok, what Service Pack are you guys using? Service Pack 2 will mess up your programs. Service Pack 1 won't. Also get certain updates. Some updates will mess you up and take up your RAM.
