IC:
"Honey...we're out of milk! Can you run to the store and get some?"
Evan Rodgers rolled his eyes, sighing as he realized he wouldn't be able to watch the rest of the football game after all.
"Yeah...I guess I can," he called back to Sarah, his voice conveying his irritation.
"Don't get that tone with me," his wife exclaimed, from the kitchen, her voice sounding somewhat amused, "You were the one who forgot to pick it up on the way home from work yesterday!"
Grumbling, he reached down and put his shoes on, and then got up from his easy chair. Walking out to the kitchen, he asked, "Just the milk then?"
Sarah turned to look at him. She was still attractive to him, even though they had been married for almost 20 years now, and were both nearing 40. She was petite, with long blonde hair, pretty blue eyes, and a pale complexion...whereas, at 6'2", he was almost a foot taller than her, tanned from working outdoors, with brown eyes and dark brown hair.
His son Justin was at the fridge, drinking some orange juice out of the carton, and when Evan walked in the room, he lowered it and grinned guiltily at him. "Umm...yeah, dad....we're out of juice too." With a casual toss, Justin threw the empty carton in the garbage. Justin was fifteen, their younger child. He took after his mother as far as looks went, and judging from the number of teenage girls calling the house at all hours, he was quite popular with them.
"I'm looking forward to next year, when you get your license, kid," Evan joked to Justin, "then YOU can play go-fer and I can relax and watch the game. By the way...quit drinking out of the carton."
"Eww...gross! You're a pig, Justin," his daughter Brianna exclaimed, as she walked into the kitchen. "No one wants to be drinking your back wash!"
"Shut up!" Justin replied, laughing, and Brianna stuck her middle finger up at him.
"Brianna!" Sarah exclaimed, her voice angry, "That'll be enough of that!"
Brianna had just turned eighteen, and took after Evan in appearance, a pretty girl with dark hair and brown eyes. She walked over to the kitchen and peered in the fridge, not seeing anything she wanted and then looked in the freezer, and sulked. "We're out of ice cream," she grumped.
Brianna had been in a foul mood lately, her ire mostly directed at Evan. She was a smart girl, and had been accepted to college, but she had suddenly started mentioning that she didn't want to go. The change of heart coincided with the fact that she had begun dating a man named Gary Wickens, who was six years older than Brianna, and the type of man both he and Sarah did not approve of.
Evan's brother-in-law, James, a Sheriff's Deputy, and had mentioned that the man had a criminal record for petty larceny, shoptlifting, drunk and disorderly, and assault. Gary hung out in the bars daily, and Brianna had come home drunk a few times, and smelling like pot. Just turning of legal age, Brianna suddenly was pushing boundaries of house rules again, trying to stay out past curfew, getting in trouble at school, or not attending at all, and now she was trying to back out of her college acceptance just to stay with this loser who Evan knew was nothing but a dead end for his daughter. He wanted better for her.
"Tell you what, Bree," he said, using her childhood nickname, "why don't you get your jacket and come to the store with me?"
She looked at him, her face displaying only contempt for him, and said, "No thanks..."
"C'mon," he urged, "We need to have a talk."
Brianna's face twisted in anger, "I don't want to hear anything YOU have to say!"
Evan tried desperately to control his temper, just barely accomplishing it, "Brianna...just come with. We can talk things over...you keep saying you're an adult now. This is how adults solve their problems. They talk them through."
"Fine!" Brianna said, violently scooping up her jacket, and storming out the door, yelling back, "but it isn't going to change anything! I'm not going to college! Just forget it! I'm staying here with Gary!"
Evan rolled his eyes, and his wife gave him a sympathetic glance.
Justin snickered a bit, looking at the doorway his sister had stormed out of and said, "Geez, what a fricken drama queen!" He laughed and headed back to the living room to watch TV. Evan had to chuckle a bit. Justin had a point.
He walked over, and gave Sarah a hug, and she tilted her face up to meet his gaze. "She just needs time to cool down, Evan...it'll all work itself out. You'll see."
Evan smiled, leaning down to give his wife a kiss, his arms wrapped around her and playfully squeezing Sarah's ass. "I hope so," he replied.
Suddenly from outside, Evan heard the horn start blaring, and he sighed in annoyance. "You'd better get out there, hun," Sarah laughed, "before she gets the cops called on us."
Evan chuckled, giving his wife's ass one more squeeze, and then turning to put his jacket on and grabbed his car keys. "Alrighty, I'll be back in a little bit," he said, opening the door to the garage, "see ya then!"
Little did he know, that it would be months before he would see his wife and son again...

Evan carried the groceries out to the minivan, loading them in the back. Brianna had followed behind him...she had not said one word to him on the way to the store, despite his attempts to talk to her.
He loaded up the groceries, while Brianna got in the passenger's side, slamming the door behind her. he shook his head in frustration...this was going to be harder than he thought.
He walked around the to the driver's side door, got in and buckled up, turning the key in the ignition and starting it up. He drove out of the supermarket parking lot, heading for home.
He looked at Brianna...she had her arms crossed in front of her, her face still a mask of petulance and anger. He had to try to talk sense into her, but realized he'd have to break through the barriers she was putting up...and he wasn't sure he'd be able to.
"Look, Brianna...I realize that you have feelings for this boy.."
"Gary," she said in a snipped, angry voice, "His name is Gary, dad!"
"Fine, Gary...I know you have feelings for him...but you have to realize, that by not going to college for the sake of this relationship you're having, you're giving up on a decent future. There's so much more out there for a smart girl like you...you deserve better."
So, what?" she retorted, "now you're saying Gary isn't good enough! I KNEW it...you don't like him, so you want to break us apart! Well, it isn't happening, dad...I'm eighteen now and it's MY life. My decision, not yours!"
"He ISN'T good enough for you, dammit!" Evan excalimed loudly, and then took a deep breath, trying to calm down. "Brianna, since you've started dating him, you're out to all hours, showing up home drunk or stoned...I'm not going to have that kind of behavior in my house," Evan looked at her, his voice becoming harder, "You still live under my roof, so you'll follow my rules."
"Fine," she said, her voice coated with fury, ""you won't have to worry about that anymore...I'll move out! I'll move in with Gary...he'll let me."
He was getting nowhere...he realized that he was going to have to have Sarah involved with this conversation when they got home. Brianna wasn't going to see reason.
He sighed, and began to drive in silence again. Looking down, he noticed that the gas gauge was reading less than a quarter of a tank.
"Damn. Gotta get gas," he mumbled. Noticing a gas station up ahead, he pulled into the parking lot and pulled up to the pumps. He got out, almost relieved to leave the oppressive atmosphere inside the van, and began to fuel up. The pump clicked off, and he put it back, about to walk into gas station, when he heard a gunshot.
Suddenly, the door to the gas station opened up and two figures came running across the parking lot, towards a beat up chevy, when the door flew open again. An older counter clerk, holding a shotgun, bellowed, "You damn kids! You ain't robbing me again!"
The clerk lowered the shotgun and fired with both barrels, missing his targets, but blowing a huge hole in the grill of their car, causing steam to rise from their ruptured radiator. Another person jumped out of the old car, screaming in fear. The largest of the three figures turned, and shot at the clerk with a pistol, causing the man to dive back through the doorway to take cover. One of the figures pointed towards Evan's van and they started running towards him.
This whole time, Evan had been stunned into inaction, the events transpiring seeming unreal. As the figures came closer, running under the flourescent lights over the pumps, he saw it was a man and two girls, all looking to be in their late teens or early twenties. The man had a gun, and grabbed Evan by the shirt, putting the gun in his face.
"Give me your keys!" he threatened. When Evan didn't move fast enough, the man screamed, "Give me your keys, or I'll blow your fucking head off!"
"Hurry up, Billy!" one of the girls behind him exclaimed, "The cops will be here any minute!"
"Shut UP, Darla!" The man yelled at her, "I'm taking care of it!"
Evan fumbled in his pants pocket for the keys, numb with fear, when the gas station door opened again. The other girl, the one who'd been in the car screamed again. Darla grabbed her by the arm and yelled, "Let's go, Cassie!"
"Fuck!" Billy exclaimed, and shoved Evan towards the driver's side door. "Get in!" He turned to the two girls, and yelled, "Everyone in NOW!" The young robber ripped open the sliding side passenger door, and the two girls quickly piled in.
Another gunshot boomed, and sparks flew around them as one of the lights above them blew apart.
"Christ! Crazy fuck is gonna blow us all up!" Billy exclaimed, pointing his gun at Evan's head again. "Drive man...get us the fuck outta here!" He jumped in behind the girls, and swung the sliding door shut.
Evan's heart racing, he started the van, and hit the gas, tires squealing on the pavement. he quickly looked over at Brianna, her eyes swimming with fear, a reflection of his own. The van rocketed through the night, Evan held at gunpoint, afraid that this night might be their last...

The premise of this story...Three deviant young robbers carjack a typical every day man and his teenaged daughter, and kidnap them, clearing his bank account out, and travelling around, commiting robberies, and keeping the two of them hostage...and toying with he and his daughter, both mentally and physically...and finally sexually, somewhat against their will.
