Being alone in the city could be very hard at least it was for Sasha, she was a very beautiful girl. She tried to become an actress or a model, but she wasn't thin enough, wasn't good enough. Rejection hurt a lot, because everyone has worth to them. In a world conquered by powerful people in the government, made up of what she called fat cats. People that had no damn idea what it was to struggle, but the new president seemed to truly are about the people of the United States. He seemed warm and very kind, she wished she could meet him face to face. But for now her life was slow and very boring, but she could tolerate her life a lot better then most. When it came down to it, being alone had a perk or two. She got up every day and did the same thing over and over again. She worked as a 911 dispatcher in Washington DC, it was a job she loved more then anything. And she had to fight to get it to, she had to do classes. Jump through hoops and god knows what else. Sasha had no friends what so ever, and her parents were killed in a car accident when she was 18. Her parents treated her to see phantom of the opera on Broadway. Something she had wanted to see for a very long time, after they were done. The three got into the car and were heading home, till a drunk driver went through a red light it was there right of way and he smashed into them at 60 miles an hour. It was the moment that her life would change forever.
After the crash she lost consciousness for a few minutes, when she came to she was scared. She checked herself to make sure she wasn't hurt before moving, she got out of the car and noticed the driver had his head on the steering wheel, his head keeping the horn on. So she rushed over to him and sat him back up, she checked to see if he was alive but he wasn't. His air bag didn't deploy, she went back over to her family and saw the bad shape she was in, her father was already dead. A piece of glass from the windshield severed his carotid artery and bleed out as she went to the driver. Her mother however seemed to have a wound, something cut her stomach open. She grabbed her shawl she was using and pressed it to her mothers wound, she cried out but stayed strong for Sasha. Sadly by the time the ambulance made it, her mother was already dead. She had her last moments with her, and would forever hold dear to it and never let it go. She was still very young when this all happened, it was terrible. She was covered in her mothers blood, as she just stood there in shock. The EMT's pretty much demanded she come to so she could be checked out, but she shook her head. She refused and walked the rest of the way home. She remembered what her mother use to say. "Time heals all wounds" though Sasha knew it wasn't as easy as that, she knew better.
Time passed and she became a beautiful, kind and successful 24 year old. She was part time at her job, but that was how she liked it. She loved her freedom and it meant everything to her, but what she didn't know. Was her life was about to change, for the better. She decided to go to a coffee shop one day, she didn't know why she was compelled but she figured it was in her head. But it wasn't and it was her instincts kicking in. She always trusted them and her feelings were telling her to go to the coffee shop. Once inside she went up front asking for a coffee, she sat down on the stool and sipped her coffee looking up at the TV in there and began to drink she even ordered a sandwich and fries. She didn't realize who came in and sat right beside her.
