Moving On

In a few days, you'll see my poems disappear from Lit. I've decided that it's time for me to move on. I was never a big writer of erotic poetry anyway--though I can write em, and do from time to time. Mainly though, I feel I need to be somewhere new--or find a new way to approach my writing so that I can grow again.

I'm also resigning as a forum moderator. There are still two mods--Eve and Lauren (and as Eve pointed out this forum pretty much moderates itself). I don't know if Laurel will feel she needs a replacement, but anyone who is interested in helping should let one of the other mods--or Laurel--know.

Many of you have my email address already, but if you don't and you'd like to stay in touch please pm me over the next week and I'll send it to you. Starting next week (3/21) I'm going to make a concerted effort to not even lurk. I need to do this to focus on my writing rather than "the latest" or bantering or whatever.

I have learned so much from you all here--you are such a wonderful group of people--kind and supportive and fun to be around. Even those with whom I've disagreed have helped me improve. And I have to say that the quality of much of what I read here often is so high it takes my breath away. Do you know how good you are?

Thank you all for being my teachers and my friends, and best wishes for your writing and your life (or lives in the case of you who are about to have twins ). Please stay in touch my friends.

Angeline, musetress of us all, you have been a constant voice here on the forum since I came here, and such a relentless poster of inspiring poetry, that I have wondered if it wasn't wearing you out sometimes. If I had tried to match yours, and some other's dedication and energy in here, I sure would had felt crowded too.

So maybe a cold turkey break-off from Lit is what you need. If that is so, I raise my glass o' apple juice in a toast to your determination. Regretfully, but raise it I do.

I will miss you SO much. You're one of the nicest people I've met on Lit-- or anywhere else for that matter! So smart and intuitive and empathetic-- all those vital ingredients of a great writer.

for your kind words here and in the private messages you sent--they mean a lot to me. I have been active on this board for a few years, but even with that I'm astounded by the number of people I've never even met who said such nice things.

As I just told Annaswirls, risk sucks but sometimes it's the only thing to do. Thanks also for the email addys. I'll be in touch.

It figures I come back to the board to this sort of news and now I'm trembling. Damn my blood sugar is bottoming out again. Let me get sugared up and come back with a better comment.

A quick cups of prunes: a natural sugar boost when you can't find bananas or juices. But is a cup of prunes a smart thing to do? I'll soon find out.

This isn't a hard board to moderate. Laurel obviously didn't think it needed one. But she was nice enough to honor my request to have one (actually, three). Cord, are you volunteering? I think Tristeste (did I butcher the spelling?) said something once about it... I think. Anyway, both good choices.

Ange, I understand about needing a complete break. I needed a lit vacation myself for health reasons and wicked eve issues. I feel better now... in some ways. Hey, once you get your writing where you want it and you've found new boards and places to explore and whatever else, come back and visit. Lit is what you make of it. It doesn't have to be a full time gig.
