Brad Anderson, 51, surveyed his new surroundings. After living "the life" in a downtown condo, then losing it to his ex in a nasty divorce, he decided a move to a quiet neighborhood was next.
Selling my security consulting business (for way too much money), I found a nice house in a family neighborhood, paid cash, and moved in. My kids, 21 and 18, approved of my new location . . why not, I have a pool that they and their friends can use on weekends away from college.
I am on a retainer with the old business to help with the transition and assist with some long-time clients, but I can set my own schedule . . . and right now, it is coffee on the back deck and the Wall Street Journal.
I bought this house knowing that some work needed to be done. Finally, a chance to do some of the things that I love to do . . . fixing up something with my hands, taking care of the yard, mixing with my neighbors while I am still young enough to enjoy life!!
Oh, yeah . . . the Vette and Land Rover in the garage are nice too!!
A couple more hours to finish organizing my home office . . . and then the day is mine in the yard!!!
