I think most of us have certain movies we can watch over and over again, so I was just wondering what they are.

Some of mine are:

The Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile
Four Weddings and a Funeral (which I'm watching now)
Notting Hill

That's mine for now.

neverending story
princess bride
hook
batman returns

(also green mile and shawshank, but you already said those)

Shawshank 3 for 3
Practical Magic
Almost Famous
The Godfather
Fried Green Tomatos
Forrest Gump
Grumpy & Grumpier Old Men
...and others

Harvey (an old James Stewart movie in b/w from 1950) Is my favourite all time movie. Its about a 6' white rabbit that only James Stewart can see. I had two videos of it but both are damaged due to being played so often

Drop Dead Fred (which probably never crossed the pond) is about an imaginary friend from a womans childhood who comes back to cause chaos in her life which is dull.

One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest which always make me cry, even before the sad bits as I know they're coming.

I don't watch many films, I get bored and wander off returning in time for the end or I read a book whilst watching it.

Yes, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest is great. And, it took so many years to get it funded, that it almost wasn't made.

Harvey is a classic. Jimmy Stewart is one of my favorites.

Great movies all and several of them on my long list of faves. I took One Flew... to work with me last week at the request of my patients. I run a forencis psych unit.

DVS & shyguy you both know Harvey

*faints*

everyone under the age of 60 yrs old usually says 'Who?'

:nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:

Wonderful Life is a great film and the last words are classic but its that last line that makes it just tooooo smooth for me.

James Stewart was a great actor.
Oh the fantasies I have had of him when he plays in gunslinger films.
Tall, dressed in black, slow soft voice........

Ummm I thinks its my bedtime ;)

The Fugitive
Roots
Star Wars Episodes I-VI
GodFather Trilogy

Shy - I've seen Drop Dead Fred - it was ok. lol

Mine:

Steal Magnolias
Princes Bride
Fried Green Tomatoes
Benny and June
Tootsie

Neverending story was on my list, but now we own it and if I see it one more time I WILL SCREAM! (we're watching it right now - fourth time this week).

I rarely watch movies more than once unless I am watching them with someone who has not seen the movie and thus, watching it through them. These are just off the top of my head. There are more I'm sure.

That being said I have watched several movies more than once and here are some of them.

Fury :rose:

Jesus Christ Superstar 2000. This is not like the old dirty hippie version, it's pure art from the set, the lighting, costumes, casting, singing, instrumentation to the acting. I've probably watched it more than I have any other movie ever.

All That Jazz 1979. This movie is a fictional account of Bob Fosse's health crisis. It's about death, and humor. It has great singing, wonderful choreography, and one of the hottest dance scenes, I've ever seen "Air-otica" make it one I come back to over and over.

The Butterfly Effect 2004. One of few movies dealing with time travel that is good. I loved seeing how by changing one thing so many other things could change. I particularly enjoyed thinking about playing the same character so many different ways.

Rocky Horror Picture Show 1975. Well, you know we all had to see it over and over acting it out, dressing up and all that!

Jackie Torrence presents--African-American stories : preschool and kindergarten. 1996. Simply magical storytelling which somehow translates on a frozen media source from one of the best storytellers who ever lived.

Moulin Rouge 2001. Nicole never looked better. Ewan never sang more beautifully. The songs particularly Nature Boy, draw me back again and again.

The Journey 1959. Possibly the origins of my rape fantasies, this movie stars Yul Brynner and Debra Kerr.

Night Of The Comet 1984. Silly little movie in which two teenage girls are seemingly the only ones left alive at the end of the world. It's just too much fun!

Brigadoon 1954. This magical village only appears to outsiders once every hundred years. The inhabitants are cursed but most are also happy.

A Walk In The Clouds 1995. Romance blooms when man finds himself claiming to be the husband of a lovely young lady whose family own a vineyard. The scene in the vineyard fanning the grapes makes me hot.

Desperado 1995. I would love to fuck either of the stars in this very violent film. Damn thing makes me laugh and I loved the soundtrack so much I bought it twice. So I'd have one in my car and in my house.

Meet Joe Black 1998. Death learns what it's like to live and love.

Bell Book and Candle 1958. Young witch falls in love. This causes her to lose her powers. Jimmy Steward and Kim Novak star.

Chocolat 2000. Uptight people find lust, love and satisfaction when they are seduced by chocolat!

Embryo 1976. Barbara Carrera and Rock Hudson star in this sci fi flick. He "grows" a voluptious woman from an embryo and then fucks her. Cameo by Roddy McDowall!

Fallen 1998. A truly interesting twisted horror movie!

What's Up Doc 1972. Barbra Steisand and Ryan O'Neil in a silly comedy that I happen to love.

Oh yes I know Harvey! I've actually seen it on stage once, quite a few years back.

It made it across the pond Shy. It's a cute movie.

Some more I just remembered...
Harold and Maud. Kind of an off beat movie of a lonely rich kid that found a friend in an old woman.

2001, A Space Odysee. "Hello, Dave"
Any Which Way But Loose (Silly, but I love it)
Dirty Harry (Pretty much any of Clint's movies for me)
Gold Finger
Live and Let Die
Dr. Strange Love
The Time Machine

Being a musician, I can relate! Great movie.

If I remember correctly the old Marshall amps, which were the loudest amp in the '70s and guitarists weren't nobody unless they had one...went to 11.

Rocky Horror Picture Show
Neverending Story (my kids loved it)
Shrek 1 & 2
Labyrinth (those tights!!) :D
Monty Python & the Holy Grail (my daughter can recite whole blocks of dialogue)

I'm also one of those who rarely watches movies more than once. A few of the ones who have made it to the favorites list are :
Amelie
Garden State
Serendipity
Love Actually

Aithne

LOL, there is something strange about that link to Harvey. It's not in English. Almost the only things I can read are James Stewart and Harvey. :D
There is absolutely nothing strange about it! It's in Danish, that's all! :p
It says that 'Harvey' can be ordered on DVD for the price of DKK 79,95 (approx GB£ 7,33 or US$ 13,05).

My husband has one of those in his collection!

Hey, over here, a danish is something we eat for breakfast! OK, don't get any ideas, Andante. I don't swing that way.
