Movies...got any suggestions?

Happy hump day, all!

Was wondering if anyone out there can help me out...

I'd really like to rent/own TASTEFUL movies w/ BDSM themes.
Sometimes it's hard to find tasteful movies of this subject matter, but they ARE out there...I'm sure of it.

I intend to do a search on my own for movies to see/own, but I thought there already might be a plethora of information here!

Recently I rented a movie titled "Secretary" starring James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal, which I THOROUGHLY enjoyed...
Also recently rented "Story of O"; not the remake, but the original French production from the 70's with english voice-overs...

Can anyone give me some suggestions?

If I don't reply today, or at least not till later, don't think your suggestions are going unappreciated! I'm at work and have limited time/privacy...

Have you checked the Library for Threads on Movies? Check under the category Pop Culture & BDSM. You may find something there

As an aside, I don't know how subtle you want to get, but Dangerous Liaisons is a personal favorite of mine, with John Malkovitch and Glenn Close. It doesn't scream BDSM at you, but the theme is definitely there.

i just saw this one last night. it was the background to a scene. the movie is calligula. (or something like that)

it is about two and a half hours long and it is seriously strange. the kink is unending and as varied as you can imagine. not to mention that malcom mcdowel (that sexy motherfucker) plays the lead.

i've seen dangerous liaisons and 9 1/2 wks...I'm going to look for "Another 9 1/2 Weeks", again starring Mickey Rourke...i'm sure it can't top the first one, but it's bound to be steamy.
I have seen Caligula but it's been a LOOOONG time. I remember it being grotesque, full of "lude" (!) sex, and very violent...not that that deters me from seeing a movie; chances are my local video store doesn't even carry it! hmmmmm....won't EVEN consider blockbuster...

Check out Quills- it's about the life of the Marquis de Sade. Even though it's not SPECIFICALLY centered on BDSM, but the life of the author of some of the most DEPRAVED BDSM (among other things), it's very erotic, at least in my opinion. It stars Geoffrey Rush as the Marquis, Kate Winslet, and Joaquin Phoenix. Definitely worth renting!
