I just had the pleasure of viewing "The Notorious Betty Page". I know this film has been mentioned before, but I have to say what a sweet little flic it was.

Its about the life of Betty Page and how she got involved in doing Bondage photos. There are also a couple of documentary style vids out there too that really aren't worth the rentals.

Ohhh Miss Cati brilliant I am looking forward to seeing it just to drool over the costumes if nothing else. I only wish they had Dita play her .

I rented this tonight, got all snuggled down on the couch to watch...

2/3 of the way through the movie it started to skip and pixelate.

I took the movie back today, explained the problem, and asked for another copy.

Clerk #1: "We're so sorry- we were only sent one copy of that DVD."

Me: "You must be joking. It's an award winning art film."

Clerk #2: "What movie?" (looks over the shoulder of clerk #1) "Oh crap I really wanted to see that! I have this HUGE poster of Betty Page at home; damn she's hot!"

Me: "You should- it's a great movie... at least it is up until chapter 7, when the DVD quit. Can't you get another copy?"

Clerk #1: "No m'am, but we can give you credit to rent anything else in the store today." (looks at clerk #2) "Who is Betty Page?"

Clerk #2: (glances at me) "Ummm... Uhh... She was uhh sort of like Marilyn Monroe- you know a model."

Me: (sigh) " Betty Page was a pin up model from the 40s and 50s, who ended up specializing in fetish and BDSM films and stills, and was persecuted during hearings to promote decency in film/art during the 50s. She has a huge cult following, and the movie is a docu-drama of her life."

At this point both of them got very uncomfortable, apologized for the DVD not working, and suggested I look for a different movie.

I have neither the energy, nor room in my budget, to go hunting for the movie elsewhere, so I'll probably just add it to my "purchase at some point" list.

Our DVD player, is old. Someone gave it to us because they were going to get a newer better one. It often can't play DVD's correctly. My husband's new computer can. I think we need a new DVD player and they don't cost that much these days but in the meantime I feel the computer into the tv.

We watched Ginger Snaps last night. It was MUCH better than I expected. Werewolf movies generally suck ass. This one had a lot of humor and gore! Bonus!!!

I think there is one called Ginger Snaps Back --- ask at Movie Gallery if you have one -- that is where i get most of my DVDs cause they (even though they are pre rented) have lifetime warrenties on them
