Stumpled over Superman II tonight, and couldn't help but feelinga little nostalgic.
that was one of the movies that came out, and made me run around the house with a blanket strapped around my neck, trying to make it look like a cape.

looking at those pictures of that years later,(Oh God I hope they're gone) I looked rather silly.

Later on it was other movies that caught my attention. old ones, and bad ones. but I keep seeing them anyway. Kinda like looking back at the first time you saw it.

Like the very first Terminator movie. Was that a great one or what?

So how about it, care to share which movies makes you a little nostalgic??

Adventures in Babysitting, Yeesh.

I don't know why but this is one of the first I saw.

Secret of Nimh too. I remember seeing this one when I was 8 in pajamas in the back of my parents station wagon just before the drive-in closed down.

I recently came across Ferris Beuler's Day Off. *g* Gawd I loved that movie!
As a kid I loved to play Wonder Woman!! Soooo don't feel too bad! *g* Oh, and one Halloween I dressed up as Annie...and yes, I knew all of the songs! <sigh> I hope there are no pictures of me in that red curly wig! hahaha Love this thread. Thanks for the smiles that came with it. :)

Rambo.... I used to have this cloth belt and I would tie it around my head when I was little then run around the house with a baton in one hand and a baseball bat in the other pretending to be Rambo....
and of course there is Child's Play... after I saw that one (I snuck into my older sister's b-day party to see that one), I left my dolls and stuffed animals around the house in odd places.... really freaked my sister out

*big smiles*

The original Superman for me..... god, I used to do the same thing, running around with a towel or something as a cape.

I would also have to say Star Wars, I can remember seeing it when I was a kid and it still brings back a lot of good memories whenever I see it.

Star Wars always made me weepy. At least Jedi did. That bit when the Ewok is dead but the other Ewok is nudging him trying to get him to wake up :( *Sniffs*

All the movies that they used to show in daycare on Halloween: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (ah! they took out his heart! ah!), Ghostbusters (scary library ghost!), and Willow (the pig-dogs ate that lady!). What were they trying to do to us?

I hate to admit it. But I was actually scared of ET when it came out. I simply hated that character. my dad got me this ET figure, and I wouldn't even look at it. I'm weird I know LOL

another weird thing is, I never really got into Star Wars.

However later on I did get Totally into INDIANA JONES.

the Hero with the hat and whip.

A little movie trivia...
Harrison Ford was filming Star Wars and Raider's of the Lost Ark at the same time. When doing a scene with his whip he got that scar on his chin. During parts of Star Wars he has the scar...other parts he does not. *g* Just a thought. lol
As for E.T. I'm sooo with you girlie..I wanted to be Drew allll the way. As I child I very much resembled her, too.

How about now? ;)

Damn, how'd that goofy looking dork Tom Green snag her.

Oh hell, did I forget about Indiana Jones.... how could I have done something as stupid as that.

I hate to admit this but I liked ET.... I actually started crying when I thought that ET was dead.

I don't know! He is a mess, isnt' he?! Ohhh well.

Funny, sure. But If I knew that Drew was waiting at the end of the rainbow I'd bring rotting Raccoon corpses onto Talkshows too :)

Movie nostalgia

Not so good movies I've watched over and over.

"Red Dawn" and "Howard the Duck". I had it bad for Lea Thompson.

We had a traditon in college of watching "caddyshack" almost every Friday.

I used to watch Molly Ringwald movies because I had a crush on her, too. They weren't always my style of movie, but she was always my style of girl.

I used to love going to the drive-in with my parents and I remember seeing "The Towering Inferno" and being mesmerized. I still love that movie. Another one that's not really so great a movie overall, but, like Xander said when you see it, it brings you back to how you felt at the time of first seeing the movie...Smokey and the Bandit. I still enjoy it, it's so nostalgic for me and I have to watch it when I catch it on TV.

Now I agree with everybody on E.T., Star Wars, and the Indiana Jones series. The Rocky movies are in there too.
A classic that reminds me of the holidays is the late 60's or maybe it was early 70's version of Oliver Twist. I pretend played out that movie soooo many times.

I loved Wonder Woman too and even more tragic, anybody remember Isis? I used to put on my earrings and bracelets stand on my parents' bed and spin around "Oh Mighty Isis".

Another funny thing.

I used to hate "Coctail" becasue all the girls where I went compared all the guys with Tom Cruise.

Hummina Hummina Hummina.... :D

"I didn't know you spoke Cherokee."

Isis Rocks!

"Zephyr winds that blow on high, lift me now so that I can fly!" I ABSOLUTELY remeber "Isis." I was pretty young, but I thought she was a total hottie.

"Isis" was part of the Power Hour with "Captain Marvel." I'd quote Captain Marvel's big line, but no body would be too impressed that I remembered "Shazam!" I used to remember what it stood for, though. It was an acronym that stood for the different mythic heroes from whom he drew his powers. "wisdom of Solomon, strength of Hercules---I cant remember either of the A's---power of Zeus and speed of Mercury" or something like that. I could even be wrong on some of the ones I think I do remember.

Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane, Derya. I hadn't thought about those shows in twenty years!

S - The wisdom of Solomon
H - The strength of Hercules
A - The stamina of Atlas
Z - The power of Zeus
A - The courage of Achilles
M - The speed of Mercury

These aren't movies, but just to digress a moment...How about Land of the Lost (how about those 'sleestak'?), H. R. Puf-n-Stuff, The Banana Splits, The Electric Company, Sigmund the Seamonster...any of these ring a note of nostalgia?

I remember my first rated R movie too...The Warriors...turned into a cult classic "Can You Dig It?"; "Warriors Come Out To Play". Classic lines from a great movie; seen it dozens of times.
