The Colorado Batman Movie shooting is our rallying point. It is time to write your Democratic Progressive right now and demand Movie Control...The federal government must heavily regulate these dangerous movies which plant violence in the feeble minds of the masses. We all know that life imitates art and it must be controlled by government. We all know that our First Amendment only protects free speech...not movies. How could our founding fathers ever envisioned large capacity and multiple frame moving pictures...they only had bad paper drawings? How many more lives can be saved if we got rid of all entertainment violence!!! I am quite sure our noble and transparent President would be willing to give up $30,000 a plate Hollywood dinners and million dollar donations from rappers if just saves one child's life. Think of the children!!!! Call Now!!!

I think The Democratic controlled Massachusetts legislative branch is already drafting a bill to declare Ted Kennedy undead and give him back his senate seat (he was brain dead anyway during most of his last term...(like a pickle in jar of Irish whiskey) just in case some of those damn blue dog democrats don't vote the party line...Movie control NOW!!!!

This is not nearly as detrimental to society as Janet Jackson's nipple for G/god's sake.

Uncle Ted was so old, that he died! It was a different time. It was possible to have friends on both sides of the fence, during his time.

Just like professional wrestling they are all laughing after the show over drinks and lines of coke...

I'd be all for it. Should have been done decades ago.

People say that its about "free speech" but that's a distortion of free speech. Free speech is the right to express a political or social viewpoint in an appropriate time and place. Entertainment mass marketed by big corporations to make money is at best an extremely tenuous definition of "free speech."

People claim that free speech would be down a slippery slope if we morally cleansed movies and TV shows, but the reality is that real free speech for the common person is virtually dead anyway due to political correctness and the overall climate of thought conformity in today's society. That's REAL free speech for you and me thats already going down, so the "slippery slope" argument is obviously bogus. Its almost like the MORE "free speech" we grant to entertainment capitalists, the less real free speech people care about. They say "oh, you can put anything into a movie and its totally acceptable so free speech must be safe" all the while ordinary people get persecuted just for political opinions. Something is way out of wack.

Let's get Tipper right on that.

I supported the PMRC myself and I was a teenager who listened to some of the same stuff they criticized. The point was, at least they were raising an important issue that should be part of the public discussion. At some point in the 90s it seemed like no matter what gets put into mainstream entertainment its not even controversial no matter how outrageous. Unless of course, its politically incorrect regarding supposedly oppressed social groups, then its bigtime controversial and driven to the fringes immediately.

Free means Free...unless of course you are a "legal" scholar than it means whatever you want...just like Bill Clinton's definition of sex.

Legislating morality always backfires.

We need to ban all assault movies like Dark Knight Rises does anyone need to see high capacity murders in each film? Also the mentally ill have access to these movies. Call your local progressive Democrat now!!!!

Too much is...too much.
Just a little is not enough.
And opinions are...well, they're opinions.
It's good to have a passion.
Good luck.

I suppose you would advocate book burning as well right? Shakespeare is full of pedo porn and incest, scarier yet he is FAR from the only writer with violence/sex/taboo behavior in their literary works....better burn the libraries too! Because the 1A is only for political speech and only in the right time/place. BTW shut the interwebs down while your at it and give 100% censorship control to the government to make sure no one is allowed to express what's on their mind, for the greater good of course.

You talk about morals, and how free speech is only for political reasons....on a filthy amoral porn site that is rife with sexual perversion, the irony is astounding.

So take your anti american, Nazi approved Orwellian paradise and shove it up your ass old man.

Cut the partisan hack bullshit, the DNC is just as big of a money/power grubbing organization as the GOP....they just pander to a different crowd and exert their control in different manners.

Well, I will call the Republicans if I want some fake industry self-regulating scheme but for federal government fine your ass or we will put you in jail unless you pay off the right legislators to carve you out an exception to the law bullshit; it will be the Democrats for sure.
