I know there's already a thread like this around here somewhere, but I can't find it.

I just received the most unusual feedback to stories posted here--in the form of jpgs attached to an e-mail of oil paintings inspired by my stories--and very well done and erotic too, I might add.

That's pretty cool.

All I got was a picture of some guy's dick once.

rotflmao... got that a couple of times, actually... glad I'm not the only one... LOL

Sent a reply that my hubby's is much bigger, and actually right here beside me... and have not gotten anything more. Hahahah!

I don't know. I might ask him. He seemed shy and said he had more. I don't want to scare him off, because they were much better than I thought they'd be--and, you know, the thought that someone is so inspired they've carried it over into another medium. It's like reposting stories--I can't just send them on without his permission.

I understand. That is very special though.

Yep. I just figured out (because what I thought was a signature, was really a title slug--duh), that what I've been sent so far are from my "Dance of the Ravishers" series. So, very tribal.

I guess the most unusual ( and flattering ) thing I've picked up is an ongoing transcript/maps/etc. from someone who's taken my fantasy world full circle, right back to its gaming roots. The world and my characters provide backdrop for all new adventures every weekend. :D

Wish I had the time/money to go sit in with them for a few sessions. I do a few mp3 vocals of my characters for color every once in a while when the DM is going to use one of them at some point in the adventure.

Weirdest one, well two, were by the same guy. I'm pretty sure it was a guy.

They consisted of a literary deconstruction of my piece. Each was about 1,000 words long.

Although when they were deconstructed they amounted to no more that the poster saying, "Aren't I smart?"

That is very special feedback. Congrats!

Don't ya love it when someone does that?

I had one comment where they said that they loved it when I wrote like a girl. Does that count as wierd?

A woman in China says she has translated Changed Girl, in its entirety, into Chinese.

Changed Girl is 195k words long.

And we've had no success getting the Chinese to honor copyright. At least it was a timeconsumer for her.

Now, given my Chinese friend's... limited facility with English, if someone who has a really fragile grip on Mandarin would just translate it back into English, we'd have a completely new novel!

I've seen that done. Yes, the results were very interesting.

I had someone choreograph a poem I wrote. I cant recall the music they used, but the words made them feel like dancing.

I'd LOVE to see some of those!

Figured that I'd ressurect this thread :D

I just had another item from my stories incorporated into a gaming group's list of magical items. It always tickles me to see things coming full circle. Gaming is what inspired my writing, and seeing it inspire gaming always brings a smile to my face.

Neat to see the Satchel of Hasty Departure fully rounded out with gaming stats, too. I created this one for the story, and it never actually had a place in my own game.

Darkniciad’s Satchel of Hasty Departure

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simailar in appearance to a Handy Haversack this magic item does more than just store items to be retrieved later. Command words link possessions to the bag, the items shrinking and packing themselves in the magical satchel within moments. One could pack their whole shop and most of their home in instants with it.

Specifications

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Carrying capacity: 2,200 lbs.
Load capacity: 2,000 cubic ft.
Maximum interior dimensions of satchel: 20’x10’x10’
Exterior dimensions: 1’x2’x1’
Weightof satchel: maximum 10lbs. regardless of contents
Price: 15,000 gp.

The satchel may be fully packed or unpacked when the proper command word is given. It can also be partially packed and unpacked with a different command word. The user can as a minor action put their hand inside the pack and pull out what they wish by merely thinking about what content they desire.

Darkniciad created this versatile and useful magic item, freely distributing the details of the process amongst wizards at conclaves over the last few decades or so. Only the long and exhaustive process necessary to create them has kept the magical creation from being more commonplace in the world nowadays.

Anybody who's seen Disney's "Sword in the Stone" can probably tell where the inspiration for the item came from. ;)

I've just had one of the long screeds from the great God Aton.

There is nothing particularly unusual in that. The great God Aton seems to spread his words fairly freely.

What was different was this version was prefaced by a diatribe in upper case. Apparently one of my stories, unspecified, had seriously upset the great God Aton's scribe.

I am pleased that I could get through Anon's thick skin. :D

Did you ever see Role Models? The movie itself is not that good - really, anything starring Sean William Scott ain't gonna be an Oscar winner - but the DVD has features where you can look at what went into the creation of the RPG used in the movie. It's actually pretty interesting how much much it takes to create even a fake, movie script purposes only RPG.

Yeah, the Aton worshipper is the weirdest feedback I've seen. I think Boxlicker got it first.
