Use a Power Screwdriver when Assembling an Ikea Bed

For less than the price of twelve Kg of rice you should invest in a Draper rechargeable power screwdriver, which makes assembling an Ikea "Whöresun" bed a snip. Say goodby to the small bubble of skin on the palm of your hand caused by using the old-fashioned wrist-operated screwdriver.

The 18-volt, cordless power drill is the greatest tool since the chainsaw.

Plus, you can get leather holsters for them. How butch is that?

Really? All I have for mine is a terribly gay turqoise plastic case. I so need an upgrade.

Still, it gets to screw on a regular basis, so I guess turqoise works just fine.

WHAAA!!!!

NEED BIG TOOLS!

My favorite tool is my rubber mallet. I have no idea why I bought it; presumably I needed it at the time.

I'm old fashioned. I like my matching set of screwdrivers made by a local company.

As long as I use the correct size screwdriver I have no problem with friction burns. If I have a large number of screws to imbed I use a screwdriver bit in my bit and brace.

If I have flat-pack furniture to assemble - I ask a son-in-law who usually has the appropriate electrical tool. I prefer NOT to have flat-pack furniture. Secondhand solid wood furniture is much better at surviving cat claws.

24V Milwaukee hammer drill. Bought a couple years ago when I had a frequent need to drill through brick and cinderblock. I have to be careful with screws though, it'll twist the heads of in a heartbeat.

Tools are to men what shoes are to women.

Well, some women, anyway.

Some men, too, for that matter.

Some tools produce holes. Other tools fill them up.

Men like holes, especially to fill them up.

I thought it said "I have big hooters."

They remind me of my collarless piston-lifter with angled ratchet.

And not with spackling putty, I take it? ;)

I can't believe this thread has been up for almost 36 hours, and nobody has mentioned carpet laying.

And not necessarily what you're thinking...

Those rods can be a bugger for the burn.

It's what I always dreaded, but atleast I got to enjoy Lit for 3 years before it happened.
The guys have started a thread comparing tools.

I'm out of here before I spot any plaid flannel shirt!
