Ok, here's what I'm thinking. A fantasy setting where mortals and the mortal plane have only just been created.

Okay, before I continue, let me say one thing: I am not, I repeat NOT, trying to insult anyone's religion by telling them that their god/s is not the TRUE god/s. It is a fantasy world, and as such does NOT reflect Earth, and therefore their is are entire different religions.

So, we have a divine setting. But picture this: Gods have been around for as long as can be remembered, and few still remember the Beginning, when the omnipotetent god All created the others. Gods, of all descriptions, race, gender, appearance, age (In appearance only - all the Gods are several millenias old), personalities and domains, varying widely in power. Their is only one god has the ability to rule and command the others gods. Even so, there are some renegade Gods who work alone, or even in groups of their own creation. One such God, a solo one, named Athelux, has a dream: the dream of the creation of Mortals. His ideas are met with mixed emotions by the other gods, but he is banished from the Perfect World (The land of the Gods) into the Nothing, which is aptly named. He becomes one of the Fallen Immortals, but still he keeps his power; not all of the other gods put together could take that from him.

But it seems all the others have underestimated Athelux. His power seems to grow, for some strange reason (None of the Gods know this, but it is through the actions of All) and soon he risks his very life to create a Mortal plane: and the world of Draalen.

Athelux succeeds, and manages to leave through the ordeal; but he is weakened almost to the level of mortality. He has created a number of lower animals, but his greatest achievement is the ones called Humans. But he has bigger and better plans for other races, based on his original works, such as Elves and Orcs. But when the construction of Draalen is exposed to the other Gods, an all-out war ensues.

I will be taking the role of Athelux. Anyone is welcome to join, as either mortals or Gods. But you must keep in mind that mortals were only born perhaps 100 years or so when this story will start, so they are not exactly advanced. With the help of Athelux, they have created language and speech, but not yet reading and writing. Weaponry and the like are basic, made out of bones of animals and stone mostly, axes are the most common weapon, followed by spears and clubs. Other weapons are rare, however.
The position of the Ruler of the Perfect World is open, as is the position of All.

Here's the bio for my character: use this as a template for your own bios (Which you should submit when you join, please).

Name: Athelux
Role: Fallen Immortal, Ruler and Protector of Draalen
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Gender: Male
Apparent Age: Early 20's
Height: 9'
Build: Athletic
Appearance: Athelux once resembled the angels one typically pictures, but upon his banishment his wings were stained black.
Weapon: Blazing, hand-and-a-half sword (The length of a full-grown human male).
Personality: Free-spirited and rebellious, Athelux listens to no-one.
Background: See above...

Okay, that's long enough for now. Alignments are D&D style (If you don't know about this, feel free to ask). Any other questions, just ask. Look forward to roleplaying with ya'll.

Looks pretty sweet.

Character:
Name: Belial
Role: God of Justice; His lesser immortal servants guide the souls of the dead to where they are supposed to go.
Gender: Male
Apparent Age: Mid-20's
Height: 15'
Buils: Athletic
Alignment: True Neutral(although sometimes, he does have views on things)
Appearance: Dressed in full plate armor. Half of the armor is black, the other half white. The crest on his helm is a magical balance that actually leans to which side has greater power in the universe. very rarely is it actually balanced.
Weapons: On his right hip is a sword of all black Meteor. On the left hip is a warhammer of the purest crystal.

Personality: Neutral, usually doesn't care. Quite ambitious, however. He likes Athelux'es idea to create mortals, and even wants to accept him back to Perfect World. However, he alone of the Gods is of this opinion. He doesn't take shit from anyone or anything.

Great Idea

I love your idea and am planning on joining in, but could you exlain the D&D alignment?

Glad to have you aboard Morgoth, your character sounds great.
Great to have you as well, SuppleKisses, and I'm glad to help. Here is a short rundown on the alignments.

There are 9 alignments, each consisting of 1 prefix and 1 suffix. The prefixes are Lawful, Neutral, and Chaotic and the suffixes are Good, Neutral, and Evil. The ONLY alignment which does not follow these rules is True Neutral (Because Neutral Neutral just sounds gay :p).
Here's (roughly) what each alignment is like. There are, of course, exceptions to the rule, but generally everyone fits under one alignment.

Lawful Good: Your typical "Crusader of Holiness" type stuff. Believes in strict morals, and normally in honour also. They will do everything to aid the cause of Good, unless this means breaking the law or something else similar to that.

Neutral Good: NG characters are, in my opinion, the most zealous of the Good alignments. Everything they do is based on which will create more good, whether this means by apprehending a criminal or overthrowing an entire government. Hence, they will stop at very little to do good.

Chaotic Good: This is my favourite alignment, next to Chaotic Neutral. CG characters believe in good, but could care less about laws, rules, and regulations. These characters are generally strong-willed and do not liked to be bossed around, but they still believe in Good.

Lawful Neutral: LN characters are often aloof of everyone. They either do not believe in Good and Evil or choose not to side with one or the other. However, they understand the importance of rules and regulations, and will follow them and enforce them to the best of their ability.

True Neutral: TN characters either believe in a balance of Good or Evil, or simply are completely undecided as to what set of morals they follow. The most common TN characters are druids who almost always believe in balance.

Chaotic Neutral: CN characters are of the most unpredictable kind. Known as free spirits, CN characters follow one thing, and one thing only: what their mind and heart says. The level of unpredictability varies however: for instance, my character, simply believes in something that few others do, and is regarded as something of an outsider. However, many madmen also fit under the CN column.

Lawful Evil: My least favourite alignment. LE characters are swindlers, cheats and the like, using the laws to their own advantage. Most of the time these characters only believe in money and/or power for themselves, and are normally the charming, back-stabbing type.

Neutral Evil: NE characters are basically the opposite of NG characters: they will stop at (nearly) nothing to commit evil and destroy good. However, they are not fussed whether they do this by any means neccesary: assassination, bribing, or just plain whooping ass.

Chaotic Evil: You've probably guessed what these guys are like. This alignment is favoured by Orcs and other foul brethren like them, who believe only in slaughter, death, and blood. A CE character on the warpath is a tricky thing to get around indeed.

Okay, how's that? Give me a yell if you need any other help. I'll start the story prolly in the next post.

Athelux

Athelux looked down from his home upon Mt. Hangoden, the centre of the world of Draalen. From here, his vision was unimpeded, and could see the finest details of anything happening in the lands. He was loath to disrupt the mortal's progress, however, and did so rarely. For he enjoyed watching them do this themselves, watching them scamper around and do many things, great and small. Also, the sight of him made many of the humans simply die of surprise (Quite literally). Standing at 9 foot, he loomed about 3 full feet above their tallest, and his death-black wings, with a total span of 15 foot, were impressive, to say the least. He always clad himself in a breast plate, a stunning silver, made of the finest quality and imbued with the powers of the gods. Underneath he wore chainmail, from neck to foot, with steel gauntlets and plated boots. Hanging by his side was an immense sword, the length of an average full-grown human.
Indeed, he looked very frightening. However, for all his looks, above him, in the Godplain, there were beings by far more powerful than him. And, ruling over them... Athelux was one of the few who knew of All, who ruled over everything. All was the only thing that had kept the other gods from smiting down Athelux altogether; for the Fallen One was lucky to have the master of All on his side. But apparently the Gods were conspiring against Athelux. If only All could DIRECTLY tell them to leave him alone... but no, his presence needed to remain a secret. All could try to influence the Gods in their thinking, but that was all... and as the Mortals below grew, so did the other Gods' hatred of Athelux...

OOC: Hey this is a great idea if I say so my self! I'm in if you'll have me.

IC: Name: Ellesime
Role: Goddess of Night, wisdom and magic
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Gender: female
Apparent Age: Early 20's
Height: 8'9
Build: Slender yet strong
Hair: Raven Black
Eyes: Pure Green (no other color)
Background: Ellesime is stronger then she appears though she dislikes combat. She was Athelux's good friend before he was cast out. She to agreed with his plans but she is only one out of many so her opinion did not matter and Athelux was voted out. She now wishes she had stood up for him more and regrets what happened. She is concocting a plan to help him a some way, she just doesn't know what it is yet.
Personality: wise and mysterious, she doesn't socialize well, her only friend really was Athelux for he brought out the best in her.

well I hope you like.. I'll post an opening soon when I can think of something.

Wow! Great Idea.

OOC: I would love to be a part of this one, if All agrees...

IC:

Name: Ulitra
Role: Sustainer of All's Will
Alignment: LG
Gender: Androgynous
Apparent Age: ~30 (it varies)
Height: ~10' (it varies)
Build: Muscular (variable)
Appearance: Always dresses in white. It's impossible to determine exactly what Ulitra looks like - he (I will use the masculine pronoun for simplicity) appears differently to everyone, depending on who they are. Very often he serves as a mirror, displaying the emotions of the being that sees him. He could appear differently to two beings seeing him at the same time, but he invariably dresses in white.
Weapon: Magic. He carries a shining white staff made of an unknown substance.
Personality: He is like a mirror and very often mirrors the emotions of others. He Loves all of All's creation.
Background: Ulitra's beginnings are lost in the mists of time. He is a mysterious God and is seen rarely by anyone. Very often he appears unannounced for a specific purpose, but often the purpose is hard to discern. He is an instrument of All's Will and exists solely to sustain All's creation.

Great, glad to have you all aboard.
Unfortunately, I've already exceeded my download limit for the month, and I still have 7 days left... so I won't be on for the next week. You guys can do sum stuff if you want, but I would ask that you not making any huge plot twists before I get back :) Sorry to put this on hold, I look forward to starting it, but I have to pay for anything over the limit, so...

I'm baaaa-ack!

Hey, I'm back. Is anyone still interested in this? Coz if you are, I'd love to get it rolling.

Athelux

Athelux sat upon his throne at the highest point of Draalen, his thoughts on the few friends he had had in the Godplain. He missed the conversations he would have with Belial regarding the Balance of Good and Evil in the universe, and his phylosophical conversations with his good friend Ellesime. Oh, what would he not give to see her beautiful face once again? But, gone were the days were he would be expected in the divine homes of the Gods, and never again would he see her, or Belial, or any of the others he had befriended. It would seem that a renegade in paradise is not looked upon kindly.
A single tear fell from Athelux's eye, and he wiped it from his cheek with a gauntleted hand. He looked at the glistening liquid on his hand, and a small smile crept across his lips. He had never felt this thing called crying - one of the few things Gods can't do - and he found it strangely... purifying.

It would seem that he was becoming more and more mortal with each passing day.

OOC: I hope everyone else is still out there. Feel free to write, guys.

Ulitra

Ulitra surveyed the land before him. He could see much from his vantage. He moved his arms, hands and fingers, testing his strength and flexibility. This body is strange, but it is what I have been given to work with in this world. He looked down at his garments - all white. Indeed, to fulfill All's Will had been his prayer and the limitations had to be observed. He turned from his vantage and took a few strides. Then, as if the sun's light was suddenly relfected by a mirror, there was a flash, and he was gone...

Athelux

Athelux took to the skies, his black wings beating behind him. His hand rested on the pommel of his sword; he sensed something was wrong.
"What is it?" He muttered under his breath, looking down on the surface of Draalen below him. He could see nothing, but he could feel something - something which sent a chill up his spine. There was nothing on this world that could cause him fear, but... could the Gods be up to something? His brow knitted in confusion as he tried to focus on the feeling of dread in the back of his brain. Something about the weaving of the fears smelt like the work of Immortals...

Ellesime stood in a green feild her gaze surveying the countryside. So this was the mortal realm she thought with a sense of wonder and curiosity. She had decided a few days ago to visit this place and really look and see what it was like and why it drew Athelux's attention. Oh how she missed him, she wished she knew where he was but ever since he left the heavens she could no longer sense him. She sat on the stump of a tree and listened to the things called birds. There songs strangely calming and beautiful. She would have prefered to come at night but the gods would find it strange if she were missing at night since that was when she was most active. Sighing softly she prepared to leave but before she could she saw a flash in the distance and a wave of power from that direction. Then the sun darkened, she glanced up and noticed a dark shape high above. Frowning she studied the shape, she felt no menace from it so she was not afraid just curious. A chill ran up her spine then and she knew that the gods were up to something over head. Sighing softly she glanced at the shape one last time then with a flash disappeared back to the heavens.

OOC: Hmm... I normally frown on people playing more than one character, as it generally drags the quality down... so I would ask that you reconsider... but, if you really must, you can, I guess.

IC: "Wait! Ellesime!" Athelux yelled, but it was too late, and she faded from view. He beat his wings slower now, letting himself drift downwards, landing near to where she had been. It was no surprise that she hadn't noticed him; no doubt her senses would not be as used to the Mortal world as his own. He sank to his knees, punching the ground in dissapointment. His fist crashed through the earth, leaving a small hole.
"Damn it..." he muttered under his breath. He stayed on all fours for a moment, trying to come to terms with this dreadful loneliness. After he got over it, he rocked back onto his haunches, his eyes looking above, to the skies where the mortals thought the Gods were. The idea of Plane-crossing would make no sense to their minds.
Athelux knew that the Gods were able to Walk to the Mortal Plain at any time that they wished, but if they were discovered by the others... and, no doubt, they knew little of the geography of the land, and where Athelux could be found...

Ellesime glared at Darshean one of the higher gods. He enjoyed pushing her buttons. He smiled "Your little friend is in for a heap of trouble down on the mortal plane" She turned facing him "What do you mean?" he chuckled enjoying this little game "I mean your friend Athelux, we have plans for him" she felt like punching Darshean but she contained her fury "Why am I excluded from the planning? I am a god as well Darshean and you should remember that when you speak to me as if you are my superior" Darshean just shrugged "They won't tell you because they know where your loyalties lie. The only reason they haven't kicked you out yet because they have no evidence of betrayal. The minute they do they will cast you out of here just like that scum Athelux" he spit out his name as if it were unclean. Ellesime's anger broke the surface as his disrespect for her friend "You had better watch what you say, I may be on the edge of banishment but I can damn well take you with me! Mark my words, you had better back off" she stopped herself from hitting him with a deep breath. "Now leave me!" he chuckled and bowed mockingly "Yes m'lady" with another laugh he was gone in a puff of smoke. Ellesime paced worried at this turn of events. She had to warn Athelux but had no idea how to go about it. "OH Atelux.. where are you..."
