like so.

anyhoo...this piece is considered iconic for the period...even a "masterpiece"
of course the rendering technique is exquisite and (supposedly) the distortion is intentional. So....no justification...just rambling'.

rhino-Way of topic of WRITING and Authorship

Rhino my tongue in cheek scribe. The picture in question looks distorted while the whole Venus thing is done so masterfully the distortion deliberate or not is of no issue. As an artist I do however have to point out that feelings can be easily hurt by trashing illustrations in such a callous manner. (Not by you of course:D < The latter was said with no sarcasm) All in all aside from the positioning of the head the cover was OK.`

Oops. Did my comment offend in her thread? If so, I will PM an apology immediately. I never did think she was the artist. I thought the neck was caused by an artistic 'correction' demanded by a publisher (original drawing with her facing the wall maybe).

I was surprised at the mean spirited nature of the said tension.

I'm surprised at myself!

I didn't know what I was thinking: dragging myself into a thread like that, when it didn't concern me. I feel a bit embarrassed by it all today, if I'm honest.

Lou, slowly learning when to keep her mouth shut and butt out.
