Arya is a freshman just starting college. She picked a place away from home as her father is a politician running for office and she wants to stay out of the public view.
She is Asian Indian but has lived in the USA her whole life.

She grew up always being the "good" girl. With her father being in politics, she had to always be mindfull of the family image. Her boyfriend, Jason, went to high school with her but had chosen a different college a couple hours away. He was also a "good" kid. Straight A's, never got into trouble, and very vanilla in life. Which brings us to today...

Arya stepped off the bus outside of her dorm, having refused her parents help to move as she didn't want everyone to know about her father's job right away. She hadn't brought much with her as she could go buy almost anything else she would need.

She walked up to the building and walked inside. Lots of other people were also moving in as well. Her dorm was co-ed so both guys and girls were walking around and getting settled. She met her RA, Steven, who seemed to be a nice guy. Got her room assigned and headed up stairs.

She reached the door to her room and opened it. The room was empty so it appear her roommate had not arrived yet. She threw her bag on one of the beds and then sat down. Classes didn't start for a few days still so she had some time to burn.

"What to do now?" She said out loud as she decided what to do.

Steve: RA. Second year

Brian: Freshman. Dorm neighbor, door right across from Arya, but to the side a little.

Katrina: Arya's roommate. Freshman.

Steve Vilanuveva knew it was going to be few busy days since the move-in had just begun today. He could only think about the fun his second year in college promised. He had taken up an RA job over the summer, skipping out on going back home to make some money for himself. God only know, he could use it. He lived in another set of buildings that were in walking distance. That’s where second and third year students lived. He was once staying in these very dorms last year, Robinson Building. He couldn’t afford it, it being too expensive but this job has its own perks. He only have to 75% of the cost what other students usually paid.

His job required guiding the new kids to their respective dorm rooms. He had turned his attention from a student who had his room on the first floor when he spotted a pretty girl walk into the building through the glassed doors. He couldn’t see much since she was all bundled up, though he could tell she had curves in all the right place. This was another perk of being an RA. You get to meet different people and making friends is pretty much easy. Besides, he wasn’t in a relationship anymore so a bit of flirting wouldn’t hurt.

So when the girl came up to his desk, he smiled at her, logging her in and using her ID to give her an access to the building. “Your dorm is going to be on fourth floor. Would you like me to show you?” He offered but she didn’t have much to carry with her. Besides, another blonde had showed up right behind her and when Arya began heading up the stairs, he tended to the blonde. For now, he kept Arya’s room number in the back of his head, finding something exotic about the olive toned beauty, a Caucasian looking teenager couldn’t help but feel the rush of excitement.

Speaking of excitement, he had to usher the blonde up to her room and luckily, it was on the fourth floor. He figured he might as well check in on the girl. It was exactly about half an hour since he had seen her and yet, he was here again, knocking on her door and once she’s open the door, she’ll find a 6 ft tall hunky looking male. It was none other than Steve, the RA. She wouldn’t have noticed his tall form earlier as he was seated at his desk. “Arya right? Just passing by…how are you settling in?” he said and quickly added, “Need help with anything or you’re good?” He simply offered.

Like many other students, Brian was also settling in. This specific dorm building was flooded with freshmen. There were two on campus building for the freshmen and this specific one is supposed to be better than the other, especially since this was built very recently and it still had a feeling of ‘new’ to it. It was also a little more costly than the other for those reasons, though he had nothing to worry about because his parents could definitely afford it.

He had come up to his room an hour ago and was already settled, liking the whole atmosphere now that he was away from home. Besides, there were still good few days before the actually classes would begin. So, until then, it was all about exploring and finding yourself in this fancy city. Next four years are going to be great…he knows it. For now, he had music on but when his parents called to check in on him, he turned it off. Whilst he spoke, he could hear someone chat outside…thinking he might peek in and say hi to his neighbors across him. As soon as the phone call ends….as it didn’t seem to be happening with his mother mumbling on and on.

Arya looked up when she heard a knock at her door. She was in the process of putting away the clothes she had with her when she head it. She moved to open the door and found her RA Steve standing outside. She was dressed in just some jeans and a t-shirt, nothing too fancy at the moment. Her eyes gave Steve a quick look over now that he was standing in front of her.

"Oh, hi there." She said having to look up at him a little. "I'm settling in fine so far and I don't think there is anything I need right now. Just unpacking at the momemt." She gestured to the bed where her cloths were sitting. "It was a long bus ride so I packed light. I'll have to go shopping and pick up stuff I need at some point."

She stepped back into her room a bit so the doorway was open. "Do you know of any good stores in town or any good places to eat also?"

Steve knew that he could come on as a stalker from the way he was going about this. Though, a stalker wasn’t the only thing because a potential ‘interest’ in her could also be perceived from his actions. It would all depend on how she saw him. A girl who wasn’t interested could see him as a stranger and nothing else. Whilst a girl who was friendly and maybe open minded, to her, he could certainly be an interesting person she’d want to be friends with.

All he could do at this time of the year was try. Besides, if not her, there would be someone else. However, he wanted her, having had typical blondes and brunettes, he wanted something….someone different. When she opened the door, he could see that she’d taken off her jacket and gotten comfortable in her room. He was able to see a bit more of her form in what she was dressed in. It wasn’t anything fancy, still she looked pretty standing there.

He flashed her a pretty smile, watching her look up as he wondered just how tall this girl was. 5ft 7 in…or 8 in perhaps? “That’s good news,” he said peeking inside her room. It’s funny how all the dorm rooms were same when empty, but so different when occupied by different student who comes from different backgrounds. He also wondered if this is first and last time him entering into her room or there would be more?

Watching her gesture to her clothes on her bed before stepping back, as if allowing him an entry, he couldn’t help but walk further inside her room. “Where you from?” He asked now that she mentioned a bus ride, “I know…moving in could be a lot of hassle. Especially for a freshman.” He nodded at her, “Yeah! You bet there are.” He said and grasped at the opportunity that was presented to him, “It’s in 20 minutes distance. By car.” He shrugged his shoulders, “If you want, I can take you out tomorrow?” He offered, “I mean…shopping and food.” He tried clearing it up that he wasn’t asking her on a date. He didn’t want to come on as a loser. “Here…why don’t you punch in your number Arya…” he said and added, “I will give you a missed call so you have my number. We can figure something out…help you settle in.” He had to get back down, but once he had her number. Some way of contacting her should be good enough for now.

Arya gave Steve a smile as he walked a bit further into her room. He was an attractive guy, more so than her current boyfriend.

"I'm from California actually, came out here to get away from home for a change." She had to keep herself from giggling as he answered her questions about shopping. She chewed on her lip as bit as she thought about his offer. She did need stuff and had no car if her own.

"Well thank you for the offer." She said taking his phone and punching her number in for him. "There you go."

She handed his phone back to him and gave him a smile. "Well I better get back to getting settled in and waiting for my roommate to get here. Give me a call sometime."

If Steve was going right about this, he could tell that she wasn’t just turning him down. Instead, she was open to being friends. It would take time but he could wait for a girl so pretty.

“Ahh! The Hollywood!” he said with a sly grin, “Yeah, I did the same thing. I am from Texas. The City really is nice for a change, including the weather!” he shrugged his shoulders, watching the girl before her. He couldn’t take his eyes off of her face and knew better to leave before he gives her the creeps.

“My pleasure, Arya.” He said and watched her punch in her number before passing it back to him, “Thank you…” he said looking back at the door and then at her, “I am sure she will be here sooner or later.” He smiled cheekily before he took a step back, backing his way out of there, “Yeah, I have to get back down. Can’t slack off. I will give you a miss call in a minute.” He said as he walked out.

Little did he knew, her roommate, Katrina, was coming up in another elevator just when he entered the one that was going down. The doors of both elevators dinged and she exited, walking past the closing doors of the one he was in. If anything, he might get a peek at her pretty frame or face, depending on where he was looking at.

It hadn’t been more than a few minutes when Arya would hear a knock on the door again. Another RA downstairs had told Katrina that her roommate was already there. So, instead of using her keys, she decided to know, not wanting to invade on her privacy. Besides, she wanted to get off on the right foot with a stranger with whom she's supposed to be sharing a room with for at least a semester or two. She's here to make friends. Dressed in her black tank top and grey jeans, one could easily notice her fantastic body she works so hard to maintain.

Arya smiled at Steve as he backed out of her room. "Well I'll talk to you later then." She said before closing the door. She turned back to her bed and went back to unpacking her cloths. "He seems like a nice guy." She thought to herself as she smilled.

Another knock at her door made her jump a bit. She turned and moved to the door. She opened it it and found herself staring at a beautiful woman. "Hi, can I help you with something?" She asked with a smile. Arya found herself glancing over the other woman's form. Her curves making Arya a bit jealous actually. "Oh wait. Are you my roomate?" She asked with maybe a bit to much excitement in her voice

Steve went ahead and gave Arya a missed call, making sure that she had his number as well. It would be a race as to who would reach out first. He would eventually call her and set up for tomorrow but it wouldn’t hurt to hear from her. It would actually make him think she’s into him. So he would give her some time…say until tomorrow morning, before reaching out to her if she hasn’t until then.

Katrina could hear someone move about inside her dorm room, confirming that her roommate had already checked in. So, it was a good move to knock on the door than just enter. When she opened the door, she found her….

The girl was a few inches shorter than her, a perfect brown shade that screamed she was Indian and quite pleasing to the eyes. Katrina smiled at her, at the question more so as glances were exchanged between the two. Now, Katrina could fool anyone with her fair skin, it was almost pale and could pass for a different race than Asian Indian. Just because her parents were from northern parts of Indian, the people there had fairer skin than the rest.

It was normal to assume she was her roommate and when asked, a soft smile curled over her lips, “Katrina. And yes…” she said extending her hand for a shake, “I heard you checked in so I didn’t want to barge in here. Freshman right? I am excited!” she said entering their dorm, putting her luggage on the empty bed, “It’s nice to meet you Arya.” Kat would say once the girl would introduce herself to Kat.

Arya took Kat's offered hand and gave it a shake before stepping out of the way to let her into the room. "Well thank you for that, you probably would have made me jump out of my skin." Arya sat down on her bed so she was facing Kat's side of the room. "Ya, I'm a freshman, looking forward to the whole college experience."

Arya glanced at her phone and saw she had a missed call from a number she didn't have saved. She assumed it was Steve and saved it. He seemed really friendly and she had to admit he was a good looking guy. She shook the thought from her head as she returned her attention to Kat. "It's nice to meet you too Kat." Arya smiled up at her roommate. "So where are you from? I'm from California. I came out here to get away from the family for a while."

The girl's hand felt soft to her, liking the contrast Arya had against Kat's fairer skin. She was already thinking that her roommate was prettier than herself. Those pretty big round eyes, her plush lips and her shorter but slimmer frame. What was there not to love?

The room was big enough for two, the beds in two corners whilst the closets right next to the door and a desk with mirror against the wall. They didn't need kitchen. It's not like they want to make food, even if they knew how to. It was time to live a carefree life for a change. The girls seemed to be excited about the same thing. Waving her hand in dismissal, "It's no problem at all. I am sure I will get plenty of opportunities to scar you." She said in a friendly tone of voice, assuming they will be getting along and get to be the besties.

Kat actually left her luggage by her closet and then came to her bed, taking a seat after plugging in her phone charger to charge her phone. "This darn thing died on me. That's what happens when you leave your house in rush!" She said as she pulled her eyes off her phone, "Sorry, yeah, I am from Texas. The family and the heat. I am looking forward to the winter here." Kat said as she fired up her phone, shooting a text to her boyfriend. After about a minute, she looked up while putting aside her phone, "Sorry. That was my boyfriend. Had to let him know I arrived. He goes here. But a junior. What about you? Dating someone?" She asked her curiously, "It's fine if you don't want to tell me. I am just being nosy." She smiled a cute smile.
