more than attractive

I am thinking about titles. Is it Eve's fault? KD's? Not really.

Anyway, at Literotica the most important notion of attractiveness of a title is following: KD said that this title is attractive.

Then there are Literotica trivia notions. If a poem scores a lot of views then part of the credit goes to the title. You may call it Literotica long range attractiveness.

There is also a short range Literotica attraction of a title. That's when your poem scores a lot of views during its week of being on the list of new poems. The number of views during the first week is perhaps even more telling about the title then the number of views after a long time.

Now let me get to the real topic of this post. I am interested first of all in titles which have poetic value. Many great poems have quite plain titles or none. Nevertheless a poetic title is a great thing. One important way for a title to be great poetically is that it is great as a stand alone phrase, even without the poem itself. The title is still much better when it is also well integrated with the poem, when it contributes poetically to the whole in a harmonious way (thus the standard notions of a good title are somewhat misleading: it is not a role of a title to summarize a poem, to serve as an introduction, to explain the poem which otherwise would be harder to understand, etc).

So, if you you know about poetic titles, possibly of your own poems, then list them below, in this thread. And if the title cooperastes poetically with the whole poem then mention it too.

Yep. That's how people title their poems.

I have no idea where you got that idea. I merely had some fun fooling with some titles. Whether they were good or not, well...

Some were, some weren't. The thing to remember about the title thread was that I ignored the poem. The only thing of interest to me was the title.

I always read the poem, but the poem wasn't the point. The point was simply to have a little fun. The poetry forum was a little stiff back then.

Perhaps I've lowered the tone, but there you go.

I have not entitled my poems just to appeal to you, but I often do try to put a hook in them, and I always considered it a plus if the dog grabed the fish's bait. :)
I must also admit trying to title some poems so they show up at the front of the list. That really does seem to bring more views.

And where is that profoundly poetic poem title?   (We know that fish is a cat food not a doog food anyway).

Darkmaas was sure that doog was merely the Canadian spelling of dog.

Respectfully learning every day, I remain,
