I just got back from a con. I got to listen to some interesting authors. It was nifty, though I stayed more sober than I'd intended. These things happen.

There was a great panel about writing smut in fantasy fiction, and it turned into a discussion on erotica in general. I mentioned Lit for people looking for a good erotica resource online. It was cool that someone else in the room knew about Lit and backed up the recommendation. I have no idea if they post on the boards or not, but if so: hey! Didn't I meet you this weekend?

Alex, if you're reading this, I said stop it! Fucker.

My favorite euphemism for jacking off is 'roughing up the suspect'.

I play the Sims obsessively.

Bedtime. Good to be back!

That is all.

I am a recovering SimCity addict. I confess right here and now that more than once I stayed up playing it all fucking night. And on a school night, to boot!

For some, what they say matters.

But for others, who shall go nameless, no it doesn't!:p

I'd better tell you because if a certain someone were to tell you, it wouldn't matter.:p

Ruby! Go to bed!

And no reading under the covers with a flashlight, either.

:D

I will go to bed after I've answered your question, Elizabeth. :)

Stick with disposable and have extra on hand. That's my advice.

I remember one time, it was the occasion of my 17th birthday. My father, being a commercial fisherman, took me and a few friends of mine over to one of the channel islands off of Santa Barbara. Can't remember which one now. Anyway, we moored off of a deserted cove and my friends and I took the dingy into the cove to spend the night.

Long story short, we had pot, papers, pipes and bongs, but no fucking matches or lighters. It was a very frustrating evening to say the least.

A certain someone? Do tell, Mensa.

Ok, I'm going, and no reading by flashlight - I swear on my girlscout badges.

"For years, we thought that a million monkeys sitting at a million keyboards would produce the complete works of Shakespeare. Today, thanks to the Internet, we know that's not true." - unknown: I've seen this quote attributed to many different people.

Congrats on the story. No one cares a fuck about anyone's thoughts but their own, dear. That is to say I'm damned surprised when they do. :)

What I say matters to those to whom it matters. It's no small coincidence that those are the people whose opinions I care about. As for those who disapprove, send your complaints to youcan@kissmyass.com.

Why is it an ego trip to say what you want to say? Who are you serving by shrinking from the stage? Are you being polite? To whom? Why? Isn't it just another kind of egotism to think anyone would care if you spoke out? If they do, why do you think that is?

I went through the poor self-esteem thing. I was treated in therapy for social anxiety and agoraphobia. I couldn't even go to the store to get groceries. It sucked. I prefer to live in this world. It's a much nicer contrast. Sometimes that means risking saying something someone else doesn't want to hear. Oh well. If that causes them to crumble, they had more problems than I can be held responsible for. Sure, you're responsible for what you say, but you can't keep everyone happy. Pick and choose, duck and cover. I care, but I don't care. Make sense? No? Eh.

They're what keep me coming back. Even the ones I disagree with. God, wouldn't it be boring if we all agreed? What would we talk about?
