I just wanted to share this with someone. My wife's is asleep so I can't tell her. I got a promotion and a raise tonight! Found out at the end of my shift. Funny thing is, all I do is sit there and pound away on this bulletin board. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

I know this is way off track but I couldn't help commenting on this one little sentence. For some reason this paints a vivid, romantic picture. The two words, garret studio, make me think of a Victorian style room with sloped ceilings, antique furniture and small windows with twelve panes. CreamyLady, the starving artist.

That sounds so romantic, and nothing could be farther from the truth: I actually live in a one-room house (well, there's a separate room for the bath, but the place could be described as a studio) with sloping floors, an inadequate kitchen area, and western light, rendering the place an oven on summer afternoons.

I am an art student, though, and while not starving, am prone to eat lots of ramen in an effort to save money.

Ah, the garret sounds much nicer.
