Yeah, I know, I could Google this, and I did, but I didn't find many results, at least not enough for a CD's worth of music, and some just not to my liking for the theme of the CD. (see below) And I know this has been asked in this forum before, but the Search function on the boards doesn't seem to be working.

Anyway, two very close friends got married not too long ago, in a private ceremony, and recently had a small reception. I was unable to attend the reception, but I have been wanting to make them a CD for awhile now.

I want it to be with sexy, sensual songs...music to get them in the mood, or keep them in the mood, or help with the mood....whatever.

So, does anyone have any suggestions?

Some Luther Vandross will go a long way. (oh man, I like some Luther for "that")

What you might want would be romantic songs from the Forties and Fifties, such as "Sentimental Journey" and "My Sweet Embracable You" and things like that. These tended to be Big Bands with a woman singer out front. Or, maybe something by The Platters, such as "Harbor Lights" or "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes." :D

Could you be a bit more specific? Do your friends usually like jazz, rock, soul, something else? What songs have you already chosen, if any? Should they be vocal or instrumental, well known or not, etc? Not saying I can help either way, I tend to have weird tastes, but maybe you'll give others something to work with. One person's sensual music is another person's torture!

They both have very eclectic tastes in music, so type (jazz, rock, etc) doesn't matter. Here are the songs I have so far:

Faith Hill - Breathe
Faith Hill & Tim McGraw - Let's Make Love
Exile - Kiss You All Over
Savage Garden - Truly, Madly, Deeply
Chris Isaak - Wicked Game
Lone Star - Amazed
Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody

Those above are definitely going on the CD. These are others I have that I'm not so sure about putting on it, but I will if I can't find anything else:

Alabama - Feels So Right
Celine Dion - Because You Loved Me
Celine Dion - I'm Your Lady
Rod Stewart - Tonight's The Night
U2 - All I Want Is You
The Cure - Love Song

I don't know if these fit what you have in mind . . .

Keith Whitley -- When You Say Nothin' at All
Peter Cetera -- You're the Inspiration
Percy Sledge -- When a Man Loves a Woman

Two words: Johnny Mathis.

Also Barry White, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra. :D

Songwise, I've always been fond of "Sea of Love" ... and as to fitting in with the rest of the songs you listed, the version by The Honeydrippers should do just fine

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! I'm sure I can find something with what's been put out there! :)

There's a beautiful song by Poi Dog Pondering called Simple Song. It's long, rhythmic, and builds up to a great climax. :D It's worth checking out if you haven't heard it.

I did something like this a year or so ago:

Have a listen to;

The Rose -Bette Midler - beautiful love song
Hold on my Heart - Genesis (Phil Collins)
In Love Forever - Chris de Burgh - what it says

Oh so wrong. There is NO other version of this tune that deserves the title except the original recording by Phil Phillips with the Twilights. It's one of the all-time great doo-wop songs of the Fifties.

Listen for yourself: Sea of Love

This is the best of several cuts on YouTube. :D
