More Electricity Rambling.....Sorry, it has me all 'wired' up !!

It is the nature of our Democracy (whoops, Republic)

We hold elections so often and have so few long-term positions, that strategic planning is impossible, so you will always have these types of blips as competing ideas come and go. The beauty of it is that unlike long-term central planning, we usually have the flexibility to get right to the problem as I think is being done in one way or another in California. Long-term planners tend to go into deep crisis (witness russia, china, and n. korea).

Hey, Indy. Didn't you know it is much easier to whine and complain about Bush not instantly fixing the problem? Supply and demand, what a concept. :) The supply side needs a little work, you are correct.

Well, I'm only going to grumble to myself now. I use candles a lot; I'll use them more. I have no air conditioner; I can live without a fan, too.

My objection to nuclear power is that it is dirty. At some point, the spent fuel has to be removed and stored, and where, may I ask, do we put it? No one -- absolutely no one -- wants it put anywhere near anything that I can discern.

As the Three Mile Island mess was traced to human error, it is obvious that yes, it CAN happen here. It doesn't make anyone a moron to be concerned about this.

As I said earlier, there is plenty of blame to go around. I'll take my slice. However, calling people names and refusing to see every side of this issue is just wrong. Actually, it's moronic.

So I take it the only thing on in your house is the computer, that or you have 800 lab mice running a giant wheel to generate electricity: I mean that posting didnt write itself.

As for the nuclear fuel solution...I think that solutions have been proposed for this before...IE blast it off into the sun. Unfortunately as of late NASA is so inept that I really doubt that they could shoot a can of beans into orbit withous something breaking or blowing up.

All I care about is that whatever should have been done wasnt done....

:p

I think he feels that he has offered some help, that people are working on solutions, and that if he steps in and gets involved in that, then the next state's problems, etc. At some point his side and the Libertarian side believe people have to behave responsibly and plan responsibly so that they do not continually need a handout or a leg up. I think California has the resources, people, and ideas to solve its problems. If they can present a real solution that needs a finite, limited, definable amount of government help (as in a real natural disaster) I think you will see help forthcoming.

Just a thought.
