Pssssssssstttt...

Candidate Dean didn't come clean and sober until he was 30.

Passssssssss it on.

Definately not presidential material. If he hadn't have sobered up, though, he would have made a fantastic senator.

Then I guess that pretty much invalidates the College Republicans I ran with back in the 90's... they were always getting drunk and sneaking around smoking weed. I got very very familiar with the writings of William F Buckley back then. And they were making fun of Clinton... "Clinton: Adultery, Draft Dodging Drugs.. ADD it up!"

The GOP is far from the morally pure party they keep presenting themselves as.

I'm sure we all remember Bush's past...

Byron. I referred to Ted.

Debbie. Only if I reach your level of boredom.

Right now the Bruce Lee Kool-Aid drinkers are keeping me sufficiently amused.

Then LT, what was the big deal about the last minute release of a drunk-driving infraction right before the election and all the smears I see here weekly about Bush the Drunk?

I remember ya'lls attitude towards Rush compared to the I didn't inhale condonement.

The Democrats are retaliating for all the slams on Clinton's moral character. Now I guess the Republicans are re-retaliating. Who started it? Who cares if the chicken came before the egg. The truth is they're all hypocrites.

That's why I'm an independent, I hate all parties equally and vote for the individual politician who makes me the least ill.

Neal Boortz had the best description of the current state and mindset of the Democrat Party.

They are the spurned estranged spouse who has been kicked out of the house and will do ANYTHING to get back at the bitch that kicked him out including pshychological damage to his kids, or even killing the bitch and a restraining order isn't going to change one damned thing!

[I embellished Neal's point a bit, but it's in the same spirit...]

Ted is a joke, but he sure keeps getting the better of the Bush family.

It would be interesting to see the tables turned in public...

That was funny the first three or four times...

Gittin' pretty rare to be a Dem in the South these days.

You need to get yourself up to Yankee land boy.

Plenty of dems in the south, just remember, in order to be a dem, you have to have your head buried in the sand or up your ass. By default, that means you pretty much have to live in the big big city to be able to rationalize all that bullshit the Dems believe. He's in Atlanta. I'm in Dallas and its full of 'em too.

Whats funny is that the dems here might show up to an anti-war rally downtown where they have 10,000 people. They then think that they have some big majority opinion when they see that many people. Never realizing that you can drive 50 miles out into the sticks in any direction and find a city of 50,000 conservative rednecks who think Bush is god just for invading Iraq.

That there politicin' is cool ain't it?

Dukes of Hazzard is on at 11am, btw....

You think Mary Jo will allow him to be elected outside of Massachusettes?

Joey Buttafucco is running for office in Mass.?

I didn't inhale, I didn't sniff, I didn't swallow, I didn't drive, my kids didn't drive..... Let's face it - in this day and age would you even believe someone who said they NEVER drank or did drugs? Would you TRUST someone like that? ewwww

Welcome to the 2003 version of perhaps the worst television show that ever aired, the Gong Show. The basic principle of the show was simple enough, and didn’t require a whole hell of a lot of sense or wit. A panel of judges, mainly consisting of well known B grade movie stars, would "judge" a variety of contestants that were paraded before them. Generally the acts were a combination of terrible comedy, bad singers and geeks who had mastered some completely useless act.

Today, the Democratic Party has adopted a "Gong Show mentality", a normally amusing occurrence that might be humorous in itself, if it wasn’t coming at such a pivotal time in history when matters of security and self preservation were at the forefront.

Unlike the original Gong Show which featured a panel of three judges, the modern Democratic version of the show features a rotating panel of 20-30 judges, supported by millions. It’s not uncommon to see Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, John Kerry, Howard Dean, or any other prominent member of the DNC, crammed into the tiny boxes with the ominous "Gong" in the backdrop behind them.

Much like the real show, the judges (or Democrats) feel a real need to be appealing, funny and gain attention in whatever way possible. The lack of real substance can quickly be covered by a nifty cliché, bad joke or a spiffy haircut.

In the modern version of the Gong Show, the contestants aren’t talentless comedians, dancers or musicians, but instead they are the problems that face the world today. A typical show might feature Kim Jong Il, Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden.

In traditional liberal fashion that would have made Chuck Barris proud, today’s panel of judges (the Democrats) watch the act for a period of time, usually much longer than any reasonable person would. So long as the act isn’t too extreme, the judges are likely to essentially ignore it, and let it run its course and quite often will minimize it through rhetoric.

But, in the rare event the act becomes a little too extreme or otherwise moves into the realm of being a serious problem, the Democrats want to pull out the "Gonger" and make it simply go away. It’s an easy solution where difficult decisions don’t have to be made, and sensitivity is respected by even the person who was "Gonged". Unfortunately, the "Gonging" usually came way too late, and the damage was already done.

It wasn’t uncommon to see Nipsey Russell or Dionne Warwick take hold of the "Gonger" in aggressive fashion and pretend to gong the act, watching them continue on with their dreadful display. Even after 17 UN resolutions, the Democrats were still not willing to "Gong" the Hussein act, much less confront it.

In a increasingly popular mentality amongst the Democrats, they just can’t bring themselves to "Gong" these horrific leaders, third world despots and tyrants of humanity regardless of circumstances. Instead they are content to watch the act run it’s course, and in the worst case possible, they resort to breaking out the "Gonger" for hallow threats.

The Gong Show mentality is rampant in the Democratic Party on more than one level. If you are content watching these terrorist organizations, tyrannical dictators and despots run the planet, then vote Democrat in 2004. You’ll get a little entertainment, some seedy jokes and no real desire to bang the gong.
