In the world of Azi'alaga, magical creatures and elemental spirits roam the landscape, collectively known as the Fae. This is true over the entire planet, except for one area -- Monkey Valley. A large swath of forests, lakes, and fields between two massive mountain ranges, the Valley is home to savage, barbaric human tribes, who are incapable of intelligent thought or language. Their communication consists of grunts, growls, hoots, and other guttural sounds. They are very destructive in nature, but their fear of the great storms of the Thunder Plains prevent them from venturing far beyond their Valley, so the Fae leave them be and avoid the area, commanding their young to do so as well. They call the humans Monkeys, and consider them little more than mindless animals.
I need a female to play a young, rebellious Sprite, who has just recently reached the age of majority, and severely angers her father by refusing to perform the Joining with her betrothed. This was arranged years ago, and she feels like she is being forced into committing to someone she does not love. After a rather intense argument with her father, she flees their home, going to the one place none of her kind will follow her -- Monkey Valley.
After coming into contact with a human who intends to make her tiny body a meal, the Sprite blasts him with a wave of magical energy in desperation, which triggers a jump forward in his brain's evolution. Over the next few days, he becomes very intelligent, the Sprite girl teaching him the language of the Fae and their customs and culture. Eventually, he learns to observe the magical energy all around him and wield it to a small degree.
When her father finally decides to bring a team into the Valley to reclaim his daughter, he is furious at what she has done. He states that the evolved human must die, and this leads to a schism in the Fae society. Some side with the Sprite girl and her Monkey -- including at least one dragon -- and form a barrier to protect the Valley. Ultimately this leads to the Fae Civil War, and the Pro-Human side gives all the Monkeys the gift of intelligent thought.
This can be an epic story with one other writer or a group of writers. I will play the first intelligent Monkey, and of course I need a female to play the Sprite. Other writers could take on the roles of other Fae, perhaps even the dragon that helps them later. I'm open to ideas.
