My mom has the option of throwing me in my room for being insubordinate. I don't think some SUV driving housewife is going to ever be able to intimidate me with sending me to my room or grounding me, do you?

Basically, my strategy is to set her straight up front. I tell my mom flat-out that my boss is dad, I work to serve the requirements of my allowance, and so long as she stops thinking she is boss of me and lets me have the car tonight, there will be no problems.

I don't know rosco. I was a bad good kid - not in terms of drugs, stealing, the usual juvenile delinquent stuff... I simply did what I wanted regardless. Having been through those years together my mother now says she was wrong to think that grounding me and taking away privileges was the right thing - she should have drug me everywhere with her -which in truth would have been more effective as punishment (one time she grounded me and took away my phone privileges for a month, and just to spite her I doubled it on my own lol always was a great masochist!)... but as a semi-reformed girl, all she needed and needs was a bit of respect and communication. If you can't give that I think the housewife might be able to take you down!

OMG red me too!!!!! I call mine "mini-master" -- at seven he already exhibits signs of "dom-dom" --- ayi! I've always been submissive and not like the typical overbearing mom that everyone always hears about. In fact, my kid out of the blue says, "Mom, you're just my slave, get me my clothes..." My mom taught me to back-down quickly, no arguement could be won against her - so why fight? Course, I hit 16 and stubbornly decided I would not give an inch any longer. That's when the real screaming started. I think it amazes her when she's confronted with my submissive traits... she remembers this yelling, shoving, angry teen.
