Clever Mom

A college student invited his mother over for dinner. During the meal, his mother couldn't help noticing how beautiful his room mate Julie was.
She had long been suspicious of a relationship
between him and Julie, and this made her more curious.

Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between him and Julie than met the eye.

Reading his mom's thoughts, he volunteered, "I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Julie and I are just room mates."

About a week later, Julie came to him and said, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I can't find the beautiful silver tray. You don't
suppose she took it do you?"
He replied, "Well I doubt it, but I'll write her a letter just to be sure."
So he sat down and wrote:

Dear Mother, I'm not saying you "did" take a silver tray from my house, and I'm not saying you "did not" take a silver tray. But the fact remains that one has been missing ever since you were here
for dinner.
Love, your son

Several days later, he received a letter from his mother which read:
Dear Son,

I'm not saying that you "do" sleep with Julie, and I'm not saying that you "do not" sleep with Julie. But the fact remains that if Julie was sleeping in her own bed she would have found the silver tray
by now.
Love Mom

Lesson of the day: Don't lie to your Mother.

Gilly Bean that is sooo good and so true about our mom's and their instincts :)

Even though my kids are under the age of 4 (ages 3, 2 and 1 YIKES  ) I know this maternal instinct... It's awesome....almost like a special power!!

Psst just don't tell the kids... mine think I have eyes in the back of my head or camera's everywhere... It's their faces and body language that lets me know what they are up too! :) :) :)

Awwww mum it's not fair .... :p

Same here! Mine are only 5, and 2, plus one on the way. Raegan, my oldest, is so easy to read. If she answers rather quick, then I know she isn't telling the truth. ;)

LOL@Gilly

I know that one.. My 3 y/o, Mikey, is like that:

"did you just push your sister?"
"nope!"

LOL.. I know he's guilty by the look in his eyes and speed of answer!!

I heard that joke before but it was always like a silver gravy boat or something.

Ohhh, you guys have kiddos at such cute ages. I'm jealous. I can't wait to be a Mommy.

I used to work in the neonatal unit at a local hospital. That's my idea of heaven...holding little babies all day long.

:)

mom's instincts

When I was 3, I loved coloring. I colored on the walls, I colored on the floors, I colored on the dressers, you name it, I colored on it.

My big brother was always trying to protect me from getting in trouble. He followed me around the house with a washcloth washing all my art away.

One day, mom came in to my room and asked if I had colored on the bedroom door.

"No mommy, I didn't do that", I smiled.

"Lesie, I believe you. Come show mommy which door you did color on." She said as she led me from the bedroom around the house.

I proceeded to show her all the stuff that was my doing.

(Lesie is the nickname she always called me.)

I can make ya a deal

I will rent them really cheap too.

NO way

Rental is by the week only.

From Sunday to Sunday.

Don't count the days, I know that is 8, but it helps to keep the accounting books straight.

:D

*grabs a pen and paper....waiting for driving directions*

And they mow and cook and help with laundry and give back rubs and make me laugh and kiss me and hug me in front of their friends and call me mommy still even though they are 12 and 14 and they are my biggest defenders and they curl up in my bed with me to watch silly cartoons and wanr me when I walk through the living room and they are watching those creepy scary kinda movies that I hate, not to look so I won't be freaked out, and they do just as much for me for Father's day as they do for Mother's day.

Hell the biggest diamonds I ever got in my life came from them last christmas, diamond earrings, they paid for every dime of them by themselves.

Hmmm how about just a short visit? I think I would really miss them if they were gone more than just a few hours.

Don't be. You can still borrow them, and when you have your own, mine can babysit.

They love their little nieces and nephews.

On my oldest one's 13th birthday, he wanted to go some place that his cousins would enjoy. Even though they were just 2, 4 and 6, he wanted them at his party so badly, that he told all his "teen" friends they were going to a pizza place with indoor rides.

Once they all got there, the "teens" wanted to play video games. My sons, went and took their cousins on all the kiddie rides and played in the ball pits and jungle gyms with them. They had more fun with the little ones, than they did with the friends.

Last year, we only had the cousins there. His choice!

my mom used to always catch my lies by telling me my tongue turned green if i didnt tell the truth.. after awhile, i believed her, and i always asked her if my tongue was green yet if i told a lie
