mom/wife confronts bully then becomes a bully

I have an idea that I have been working on, but it just isn't working, so I'm looking for ideas. In my story a mom/wife confronts her son/husbands bully. The bully happens to have all of her weaknesses and they end up an item. The mom/wife who was a popular cheerleader type in school and was a bit of a bully herself is reborn and her inner bully is awakened. I just can't get the story to work so I thought I'd see if anyone else had any ideas that could help me finish the story.

Perhaps Mom starts bullying other moms in the PTA, at first pressuring them to 'volunteer' at events, then donating larger amounts to fund "school trips" - which she skims - then resorting to blackmail when she discovers one mother having an affair with the PE Teacher.

The other mothers compare notes and finally band together to exact their revenge on Bully Mom.

If I understand your vision correctly, my sense is that the story would work better without the part about the “bully happens to have all of her weaknesses” part. I’m not sure I understand what you mean by that. If you just go with the mean, bitchy, feisty, catty former cheerleader having her dark side reawakened by defending her son or husband, there are a lot more fruitful directions to take it.

it’s your fantasy, though, so more details of where you’re hitting a roadblock and why you can’t get the story to work would be helpful.

That was my original thought. Her darker side is awakened defending her son/husband who are more nerdy types while the bully is the typical jock type that she would have been interested in in school. So not just her feisty side is awakened but other sides as well. She gets out-bullied and begins to join him in bullying her family.

That's an interesting take I hadn't considered. She thinks she's being a good mom, but actually is a bully to the other moms. I'll have to think on that one.

That is my original idea. She's originally the protector but as the old her is awakened she goes back to her old ways of bullying the types she went after in high school, her son/husband.

Well first decide who the victim is. The husband or the son. Or are they both being bullied by different people? Maybe Husband has a coworker that is taking credit for his work and husband is letting him walk all over him. And Son is being bullied by typical jock bully, standard high school harassment. Mom goes to confront the bullies but after talking to bullies is disgusted by how weak the men of her life are. If you want to put an interesting twist on it make the bullies women, so mom really identifies with them.

To expand on my initial suggestion. Instead of the mother instantly siding with the bullies, have her initially go tiger mom on them. They have reawaken her cruel nature and she at first directs her rage at the bullies. Doing all she can to destroy their lives. Eventually she becomes disgusted by her husband or son and she starts harassing them. So instead of mom and bully teaming up, its son and bully getting bullied by mom.

My original story involves a fairly newlywed couple who move into an apartment next to or near his former bully. The bully thinks he's just ribbing the husband and trying to toughen him up, while the husband just thinks that's how he is. The wife sees it for what it is and is angry at first. Eventually she sees her husband as weak and gets disgusted by his lack of willingness to fight back. She then gives into the bully and becomes a bully again.

If it is a son in the story, then the mom being an older, wiser women could easily bully both the bully and her son.

And I like the idea of the bully being a woman. I think it would work best with the first story where the mom identifies with the bully and again gets disgusted by her weak husband.

Ok so the husbands bully was a woman from school. She used to bully him because she had a crush on him and wasn't able to express it. Now that they meet again, she sees he has a beautiful wife and is jealous. So she starts bullying him again. Wife intervenes and starts becoming disgusted at her husbands weakness. Soon she starts bullying her husband for being weak. Meanwhile bully who still carries a torch for the husband ends up becoming his savior.

I have a good bit of it in draft form. Unfortunately, I'm not happy with it. Not sure what it needs but I'll dig it up and give it another look over.

Maybe the Mom realizes that she gets a sexual thrill from bullying, so she tries to find an outlet for that, maybe a dominatrix?

Maybe she takes martial arts classes for exercise, but then realizes she can use that training to physically force men and/or women to do what she wants?

Maybe she used to serve in the military?

Thread's a year old bumped by a pointless comment, but what the hell ....

Not only her inner bitch/bully, but her inner slut. She goes Dom and begins putting the guy in situations, maybe offering him to others to play with at her direction and commands.

Suppose they're a new-ish couple and move into a apartment as mentioned above. The landlord is previously unknown to them, but takes an interest in her and sets the whole thing off pursuing and winning her over to his chagrin.
