I found this incredible song, Here

It is 'Epic' in the true sense, a nine minute rock overture. It reaches a blissful, intricate crescendo around seven minutes in :cool:

It's from 1973, so the synthesizers are pretty primitive. :eek: I wonder if there are bands today who do this kind work. With the improvements in instruments, a bet is would be great.:cool:

Have a look at some of the stuff Marillion do. They are currently touring North america with their 17th album due out in later this year.

Lots of you tube stuff but try Fantastic Place, Happiness is the Road or Ocean Cloud for starters.
 
There are rocks in Death Valley that move by themselves. One could say they "progress", making them progressive rocks.

I think with modern synths the breed can be improved on, call it Neo-Progressive perhaps, or Epic Rock?

There are so many bands today caught in a 90's Seattle Grunge/Hoody and the Blowfish time warp. It's way past the time for a new movement.

I was thinking about this lately. Today's music is so overly produced/manipulated the performers don't even try to hide that a great deal of their "live" act is prerecorded. I miss the days of watching 4 or 5 people making every bit of the music you hear.
