I've liked the myths of the Satyrs for a while. No so handsome, lustful, and charming. Being an old goat, I kind of identify with them.

I'm sure there are plenty of stories already written, but I was thinking of a story with characters enchanted with the spirits of nymphs and satyrs.

Really, one satyr character; A fun loving guy who loves to drink and entertain crowds, and who is welcomed at any gathering

Nymphs, wiccan; young and mature women caring and conscious of nature, who usually do as they want as long as they do no harm to others.

Hm... this could be fun. You might have the gruff and reclusive fellow become a Minotaur, and the one character who never has sex in the story is a Unicorn. :D

Now, will they be turning INTO the creatures, or just sort of have the essence of them in them? Or will the characters just be BASED on such mythological stuff?

Cause it can be fun when a story is based on an older story, but the guy leaves the audience to figure out (For some movie examples: Out Cold is based on Casablanca, 10 Thing I Hate About You is based on Taming of the Shrew, etc.)

I love the tie in of myth with modernity.

I have found all these fantasy/sci-fi/mythic role playing groups out there. Why not have a young participant in of these groups start chatting up another member in another state or city or whatever. They agree to meet and when they do, she/he realizes that the person they were talking to, really is the mythological creature they claimed to be. Hilarity and great eroticism ensue!

I love surprises.

Seems like you would have to spend a lot of time explaining character nuances to get the fact that they are a satyr or nymph re-embodied. It would be easier if there was a straight magical aspect to it- they look in the mirror and they see the mythological creature within, and when they look at each other, they can see that same creature while no one else can.

That is an awesome idea.

Group of young men and women maybe college students acting out some mythical scene. One of the students digs up some acient spell, not believing that the spell would actually work, but the words would help their scene seem authentic. The spell is copied and passed around to all the students, so they could all chant it together.

The students wow over the special effects they believe was set up for their scene, but they didn't realize that the effects was caused by the spell.

One of the students who was there did not say the spell and was unaffected by it. However, saw the strange and lude behavior of the other students.

Let's say that the students only fall under the power of the spell during the full moon, but don't remember anything that they did. But also say that the student who wittnessed the spell casting could also see the mystical forms.

That's a really cool idea you have there.

:D

And "Clueless" (the movie) is based on "Emma", by Jane Austen. "Clueless" the television series appeared to be based on cluelessness. But anyway.

The story idea reminds me of the Buffy Episode where everyone turned into their costume. So I have this vision now of dressing as a Vampire, getting zapped into a Vampire and running into Spike.

Me as Newbie Vamp: EEEEEW! You mean I really hafta bite them?

Spike: Bloody hell! This isn't the Mickey Fucking Mouse Club! You're predator! Now grow some balls and go bite someone!

There was a role playing game that was based around this idea called Changeling: The Dreaming produced by White Wolf games. It's now out of print but I'm sure you could find some fan sites still around for it and get some more good ideas.

I am kind of lost in what we came down to as a good story line. A massive group spell or a more discreet one to one encounter?
