MLB: 2021-2022 Hot Stove

As one would expect, a lot of signings and trades are going down ahead of the end of the current CBA. Too much for me to recount in a single post, and I'm slammed with work.

But the Mariners...........dayum!

And I can totally see the Scherzer signing blow up in the Mutts' faces even with the opt-out.

JBJ going back to the Red Sox for Renfroe was an absolute stunner!

Also, we're now in a work-stoppage, so.........................

Yeah.

I hope this gets resolved by spring training. I need a distraction in a bad way.

Drafted Marcus Semien last year in my keeper league. He will be a keeper, but a bit bummed he's going from Toronto to Texas.

Kyle Seager.................retires!

And the hopes of a nation wishing to see him play alongside his brother in Texas go *poof*

Not MLB-related, but still very cool nonetheless:

Report: Rachel Balkovec will manage New York Yankees' low-A minor league affiliate

Rachel Balkovec will manage the low-A team for the New York Yankees this season, making her the first female skipper in affiliated professional baseball, according to a report by The Athletic.

Balkovec, who joined the Yankees as a minor league hitting coach in November 2019, will lead the minor league Tampa Tarpons, according to The Athletic.

A 34-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska, Balkovec got her first position in pro ball with the St. Louis Cardinals as a minor league strength and conditioning coach in 2012.
