Marco was a sophomore at New London Public University. He was studying to become a chemist, he didn't really like school but he wanted to learn about how things worked when they came into contact. And since he was a young boy and mixed his first mustard gas, which almost took him and his class out, he had been hooked on chemistry. His parent's were poor but he was able to go to the nicer university because he had gotten a scholarship for his invention of a new pain medication. Easier to produce and better working than even aspirin. The money from selling the formula had been saved in an account, separate from his parents and he couldn't access it for 4 more years at 25. Luckily the company that bought it, also paid for him to go to school with the agreement that he would work for them after. Marco didn't care about being a corporate stooge but once he was done with school the world would be open for him.
Tonight he was working on something he had read about online, he had been on Literotica, reading stories about goo or slime girls. Part of the stories seemed Sci Fi but he knew that chemistry could bring life, we all started out and our bodies ran on it. He had decided to try it, mixing a synthetic jello like substance with a few organic ingredients and letting it sit in an electrified bowl. If nothing else he had wasted a few minutes, if it worked he would have someone to share his life with. He wouldn't be alone anymore. He smiled. he hoped this worked. Mixing the last of the ingredients he set the diodes into the mixture. The surface rippled with the current and nothing happened. He turned up the juices on his battery powered diodes. Nothing. He frowned, maybe it needed more juice. He switched from the battery powered diode to the set that plugged into the wall. He stuck them into the gel and plugged it in. The bowl shuddered then the gel exploded, covering the room in globs of sticky goo. His face was covered and as he wiped his face he frowned. It didn't work, and now he had a mess to clean up. Sighing he stripped his stained clothes and walked to his bedroom. He would clean up the mess later, he just wanted to sleep for a bit. Putting his headphones in he laid in bed, unaware of the moving gel in the kitchen. The globs were congealing into a larger blob and soon a shape was forming in it.
