Hi all, just wondering what your thoughts are about marriages that are different from the usual where the couples are similar ages, come from same areas, etc.

I am Asian, 25yo and am married to an Australian guy who is 50. Do you feel this sort of marriage is right or wrong?

Yay for diversity and stearing away from the normal. If you are happy then who cares what other people think. Just do it.

I think that as long as the relationship works for the two of you and you're both happy, then to heck with what other people think. My boyfriend is 16 years older than me, and though we sometimes joke about the age gap, most of the time we don't even think about it, because we get along so well. More power to you!

Marriage

My wife is Thai. I am from the USA. We've been married 31 years. We told our families take us or leave us, it was up to them. They took us, our children and our grand children. Where you're from, race, age or religion shouldn't make a difference. Just your happiness.

I'm of the opinion that if it's right for the two of you, then it doesn't matter what the rest of us think.

FWIW, my hubby's 48 and I'm 32, and we're very happy.

I fully believe you're the one who has to be happy...my BF is 17 years older than me, and like someone else said...we joke about it....but most of the time..we're just totally content in our love for one another.
