So...

Does this mean she can win the title of Mr. and Miss Canada at the same time?

Gotta think positive here....

Call me crazy, but those 2 look like trannies (because they are, or course). They do not look like "real" women. I can tell that something is just not right with their looks.

Iin this case, she was 'outed" when Canadians were told she was a tranny. That's when the ruckus started.

Sad if she wins in Canada... that would mean a guy was able to beat the women at their own game.

They need to start a Miss Transgender Universe pageant.

That exists. It's usually held in Thailand. http://www.missinternationalqueen.com/images/queen2010.jpg

The program's mission statement is: Striving to advance and support today’s transgender/transsexual, Miss International Queen™ Pageant offers great opportunities for transgender/transsexual from all over the world to present their individual beauty and intelligence in a friendly atmosphere.

Edit: I do want to say that I am not in favor of these types of pageants, though. My mom was already crazy enough, making me take all kinds of lessons in acting, music, and such, and if I were involved in these things, she would have killed me with her obsession. Being the oldest child sucks. I have no problem with folk who enjoy these competitions, but there are so many folk who are forced into them, and have self-esteem issues, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and the like because of them, that makes me a little wonky on the whole thing.

Are you a transgender beauty queen?

Are you a transgender beauty queen?

No, I'm not transgendered. I'm happy being a guy. Well, as happy as I would be as a woman anyway. I had this argument so many times with my ex... Because he was scared of the gay, not because i was transgendered. I'm really more gender neutral, it's just easier to be gender neutral and not be judged by American society if you're a woman.

I managed to avoid the beauty pageant scene by having a cock. Instead, my mom forced me into the whole "HollyWood Kid" scene. I had to be on the radio begging people to vote for my grandpa under the political policy of, "I'm cute!" I had to try my damndest to learn to play 5 different instruments (played till my fingers bled, never got more then one tempo- my brother picks something up, goes through the scales and then instantly knows how to play it- he works for KET now.) I had to take voice lessons, singing lessons, acting lessons- I just wanted to play my Playstation and have a childhood, damn it! Yeah, eventually the government said we could live with our grandparents, not just for that, she was really intense about a lot of shit, but damn was she intense on that drama thing. Do you know how many famous actors come from Kentucky? Because I do. It is kinda disproportionate- but still, the word, "project" sends me into the fetal position.

I DO NOT HAVE THE HOLE IN MY SOUL THAT ONLY APPLAUSE CAN FILL!! I WANT TO DRAW! I'M AN ARTIST! LEAVE ME ALONE!

*cries in a pile of red paint*
*stabs canvas*

WHY
*stab*
DON'T
*stab*
YOU
*stab*
LOVE
*stab*
ME,
*stab*
MOMMY?

Oh, wait, because you're a horrible, druggie, bitch. That's why I never cared if you loved me or not.

Well, etsy, here's something else that's not going to sell *takes stabby, red canvas to etsy*

Canada where Prime Minister's pretend to be conservative, and Beauty Queens pretend to be women.

The sooner Quebec wakes up and ditches that sad sack loser of a country the better off it will be.

If you want "conservative", stick with the west of Canada, which is closer in culture to the US western and plains states. Quebec is NOT conservative in the American sense.

Didn't say it was, it was an attempt at making a humourous insult to our Canadian friends. ;)

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Transgender women will be allowed to participate in the Miss Universe beauty pageant next year, officials announced Tuesday, a week after they ruled a trail-blazing 23-year-old from Vancouver could vie for the crown this year.

Pageant officials said they are working on the language of the official rule policy change. Trials for next year's Miss Universe pageant begin this summer.

The move comes five days after the organization said that Jenna Talackova could compete in the Miss Universe pageant this year.

Talackova had a sex change four years ago after being born a male.

The gay and lesbian advocacy group GLAAD called on the Miss Universe Organization to review her case, as well as open the competition to transgender women.

"We want to give credit where credit is due, and the decision to include transgender women in our beauty competitions is a result of our ongoing discussions with GLAAD," said Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization.

"We have a long history of supporting equality for all women, and this was something we took very seriously."

GLAAD on Tuesday praised the decision and the work by Talackova to remain a contestant.

"The Miss Universe Organization today follows institutions that have taken a stand against discrimination of transgender women including the Olympics, NCAA, the Girl Scouts of America and The CW's America's Next Top Model," said GLAAD's senior director of programs Herndon Graddick.

"At a time when transgender people are still routinely denied equal opportunities in housing, employment and medical care, today's decision is in line with the growing levels of public support for transgender people across the country."

Talackova's sex change initially led organizers in Canada to disqualify her from the 61st Miss Universe Canada pageant set for May, citing a rule that she must be "naturally born" a woman.

Talackova pleaded with the pageant's leaders to drop the rule.

"I am a woman," Talackova said last week. "I was devastated, and I felt that excluding me for the reason that they gave was unjust. I have never asked for any special consideration. I only wanted to compete."

Donald Trump, who runs the Miss Universe Organization, wished her "the best of luck in her quest for the crown."

The official rules will have to be approved by Trump and NBC, which co-own the contest.

On Monday, Talackova told ABC's "Good Morning America" that she has a boyfriend and hopes to have children some day, but didn't initially tell him she was born male.

Talackova said she and her boyfriend of 2 1/2 years needed to get to know each other as friends before she told him about her sex-change procedure.

Talackova was asked whether she wants to have children. She replied, without elaborating, "Yes, I want to have two children."

the one thing i just don't understand is the whole, i'm gonna blow a whole lotta money so i can have tits and a pussy, mentality. do you know what you can buy with that much money?
in the old days of native american society, 2 spirits were accepted. not in apache society though. they'd kill a homosexual in a heart beat. people got over the fact they were born in a male or female body but had the opposite sex spirit inside. they just took roles in society of what they saw themselves as.
oh, hold it, sorry, i'm sure jenna will milk this for all its worth and make a mint. next weeks movie of the week. how i started hormone therapy at the age of 14 and got the surgery...........

nevermind.

you assume. i don't care for women who have such a low self esteem that they have to do that.
it's like a man going through a mid-life crisis and buys a high priced sports car.

Apparently, you can buy tits and a pussy.

And your way into a beauty contest, and the social stuff that goes with being female. There are two completely different social expectiations, split along gender lines. If we lived in a society that was more gender neutral, you could do that, just live your life the way you wanted, cross-dress, do what you need to do for your gender identity. But that is ridiculously difficult to do in this day and age. Some people can actually pull it off, there are transgendered people who don't get reassignment surgery. But when you find, say, a partner, you have to explain the whole transgendered thing, and that's gotta be a pain in the ass, though it would be a 'prove your love thing'. But some people just want the body they should have had. And if they want it, then they should be able to get it. That bitch looks good. And now she can go to the goddamn bathroom in public without worrying that she's going to be "outed". She can compete in women's sports and gender-specific competitions like beauty pageants. She corrected a mistake.

I, for one, have no problem with elective surgery. Aestetic chioces aren't necissarily self-esteem issues, it could just be aestetics. Some people want to look different, because they want to. Do you have mirrors in your house? Do you look at them before you go outside? Maybe not. I do. And because I have that vanity, because as soon as my hair starts going grey, I'm dying that shit right back black, because I work out an hour a day- me, a guy who smoked and put my body through hell for years, so it's obviously not a health thing, I don't call anyone else out on vanity. Because I know that I'm vain. And I sure as hell don't call anyone out on trying to get their body in it's physical form to match the body in their head.

I'm infected, by my genetics
I'm perfected, by your cosmetics!
