I posted this story a few days ago after trying to find an editor for two weeks. None of the ones I contacted ever returned my inquiries. Now I feel a bit embarassed that there are at least eight typos in the story I just posted. Is there any way I can get them fixed?

I think you can resubmit it after corrections by putting the word "Edit" in the notes field or something.

Oh, wait, Starrkers posted this response on the "Ok - I'll be your target" thread in the story feedback section.

"Yes. You need to resubmit with the new title, everything else the same as it was (unless you want to fix any typos etc) and the word EDITED in the title field as well.
Make it clear in the notes section what you want changed. Laurel will do the rest and swap the new for the old. Your votes, comments and score will transfer to the new version."

A second set of eyes always helps. I haven't gone to any of the site's editors for help, but I have friends on here who take a quick look to make sure things look "kosher". I have an obscene love of semicolons. Eh.

If you ever need a second set of eyes, you can always PM me. I'm not the best editor, but I'm decent.

The easiest way is to delete the flawed version and replace it with a corrected manuscript. The process sounds a bit obfuscated, but it's easier to do than to describe.

1) Go to your submission page and enter the title of your story, verbatim, but add the word DELETE to the end of the title. Type DELETE again in the submission box, where you would normally paste your story.
Then go to the comment box and type (surprise!) DELETE, along with a brief explanation that you need to correct errors.

2) Submit the corrrected version as if it were a completely new story.

Sorry you had problems finding an editor. You may have been working from an outdated list and contacting eds. who are no longer active.
