I was just saying that the other day….especially when living in the sticks….I can barely find an echo in my neck of the woods . I didn’t use it to its full advantage before, because I was married…now that I am single, and moved deeper into the woods and higher atop the mountain, I have no idea how to meet people ….CL was my go to….now I have to drive 20 minutes just to talk to people at a gas station or a DG….LOL

Thank your government for protecting you. They came out with a rule that dating sites were responsible if someone met on a dating site and was hurt sexually. Many dating sites made making contact more difficult after that. Probably one of the many reasons Litorica does not allow posting personal information in public chats. Some sites are taking a risk and still letting people connect for dating but CL panicked and dropped all sexual personals, and spends way too much effort purging them from the Community section.

It was preventative on CL's part. At the time, Backpage was being raided by the Fed's for trafficking and CL pulled their personals as a precaution to not have the Feds turn their eye on them.

Doublelist also went to shit. Too lax with reporting in that you can get banned and not contest it (and they do phone number bans) meanwhile they don't regulate and ban fake profiles because that would kill their platform.

It'd be just as good if there were that search option here. Select your state, city, and then choose a category like M4F of M4A, or click a tab for Female, Male, or Couple.

I miss it too...that and the old Yahoo chat rooms.

I do think it's interesting however there arn't any women here that have chimed in to say it's something they miss.

I also tend to think that the whole online stuff between men and women has changed since those days. Practically every woman I've talked to, where the topic has come up, has said how lazy and one dimensional things have become. No real effort to get to know someone or see them as anything other than a collection of body parts.

Just take a peek at the lit chat. Used to be you would go to a room, and there was some sort of actual conversation going on in there. Now it's 99% dudes just typing a one liner about what they are looking for (I call it placing their menu order) and that's primarily it.

Craigslist at it pluses and minuses. I met some tremendous ladies there. We had some great long-term intimate relationships, great times in and out of the bedroom. But with Craigslist you had to be prepared for the spam, I would learn to sift through 100 or more Fake Messages to find one or two legitimate ones. It's too bad it got shut down for the reasons they claimed because I would bet that the majority of the people on Craigslist personals were legitimate looking for a connection with one person and that they were not looking for somebody who is traffic
