The whole pageant, everything about it is so fake and disgusting (although at least they just started wearing modern bathing suits) and now they have found there politically correct queen...oh, she is in Havard law school...wants to be a politicians..and she is mixed race so noone can be offended or felt left out (unless your a real racist and you don't believe in the mixing of races but that just makes you really stupid, but I digress) ...please...the phoniness of the whole things just gets updated and worse... Lets just stop the crap and have Hawiian Tropic contest and then just give intelligent women scholarships to schools without them parading around and doing stupid pets tricks.... sorry I am ranting..

The era of debutantes is over...being the bell of the ball matters nothing either...and a "coming out" party these days tends to be a celebration of admitting homosexuality.

I agree, Hawaiin Tropic, Coppertone, Hooters, and other types of pagaents would be much more interesting. At least to the viewers. Then they could be more creative with the categories of competition. "Who can swallow a summer sausage?" would be a good one.

I agree, sufisaint. "Beauty" pageants are degrading to women and men alike, totally passe and uncool, and should be already a thing of the past. I hear the "Miss America" pageant, as a business, is struggling. Here's hoping it goes under soon!
