Jim Jones ducked out of the hallway ignoring every one and instead making a beeline straight for his beat up old pickup. Most would be drinking the weekend away or doing some other teenage shit.
But not Jim
Jim pushed his thick glasses up against his nose and shouldered his black canvas backpack waiting until the crowds began thinning before venturing back out into the hallway. The school was much more creepy with out any one in it empty and cavernous. It reminded him of the gaping maws of the most recent book he read.
Jim pushed the thought away and walked out blinking as the harsh sunlight hit him. He flipped up his hood taking comfort in the solitude it gave him and continued walking down the path ducking behind the schools gym to get away from the crowds of people. If they saw him they would more than likely seek him out and give him hell for some shit or tease him for the sake of teasing him.
“I’ll just wait until they leave” Jim murmured throwing his backpack against the half wall and jumping onto it. He grimaced as he smoothed out his baggy two sizes to big clothes. He supposed he shouldn't blame his mother for being poor or putting all their meager money into his sisters instead of him.
Well maybe he could get a little pissed at that
His graceful fingers danced over the book in his hands gently grabbing it and cracking it open. He took a minute to find his place before getting comfortable and pouring into it oblivious to his surroundings. His sapphire colored eyes quickly began reading getting drawn into the story and getting comfortable one leg dangling over the wall.
