My first sexual experience was when I was 13 yo, and she was 32. I do not consider myself as being abused, or raped. Actually I went back for more and I thourougly enjoyed it. Looking back now, (I am 36, I consider myself lucky. I did not get through the gitters young boys get through until their first experience. I was in the experienced hand of someone that was not going to get pregnant, pass me VD's, or claim rape. I learned the secrets of sex and could concentrate for school much more effective. Ultimately, I had a place where I could stick it in without begging, or anything else required. I can't speak for everyone, but I personally chose to lose my virginity for the main reason of getting "field experience". I wanted to find someone to show me the ropes so I wasn't fumbling around and possibly ruining a good thing when it finally came along. Ok I am willing to admit there are many sides to this issue.

I am also honest enough to admit that I have a bias on the male/female side of this issue. Your mother would probably wanted to have killed her your father applaud her.

If you were a 13 year old girl instead of a guy I would say sex offender and put them in jail. To be honest the women probably was a sex offender but it sounds like she did more good than harm so what side do you come down on then?

These issues are so hard and should be looked at individually. Judge the maturity of the child and the relationship and effects of it. When you take it as a blanket question I would have to say no way to adult minor relationships. But like everything else in this world nothing is black and white.

Here is the big problem though. I talked to a woman in chat of lit who lost her virginity at 13 to an older male friend of the family. She readily admitted the first time was NOT with her consent or without force. When her mother found out she told her daughter it wasn't really rape since she had a relationship with him.

My fear is that if we say it's ok we say it's ok for everyone and leave the children of this world open to sexual attack.

I absolutly agree Hatara. Is the entire world biased? Absolutly. But not to forget that our thoughts about the adult-minor relations are based on a biased upbringing. Now if we observe the nature, there is no age limit for sex. Usualy when the individuasl are ready for sex they have it. Our rules have labeled our own behavior and put time limits on them. We all know that teenagers have sex and some do it as early as 12-13 years old. Do they know what they are doing? Sure they do. I did, and came for more. Looking back now, if the sexes were reverse, and she would have been a he and I would have been a girl, with the same approach, and level of comfort and more importantly if the stigma would not have existed, nothing would have changed and I would have had sex, and still end up a well grown adult without any bad effects on their development. (As I like to belive I am)
When a father finds out that his 16 year old boy had sex, he might say: " Well, it's about time.". But if the sixteen year old girl had sex, both parents will think, more than likely, forced sex, coerced sex aided by alcohol or even stupidity on girl's side. Not for a moment will they think that maybe she wanted it too. And that is just because they (the parents) were conditioned from childhood to think as such. I also think that the teens that have sex with adults would not be as traumatised if we the society would not brand them as such, exception the rape cases.
So for "equality of the sexes" 's sake maybe there should be a little more research and less immediate branding. But then again... I am just a guy, thinking from a guy's point of view.
