Back in January, I'd hoped to co-ordinate poetry workshops throughout the course of this year so that seasoned poets could stretch their expertise by facilitating poetry workshops and so that both seasoned and green poets could participate in them. Part of my thought was to bring PH "old" (and I do mean old) timers together with PH newbs, but there were other goals as well:

- to learn more about forms or aspects of poetry from a unique and informed perspective
- to learn something new about poetry that we might not have thought of before
- to mentor other poets in a specific form or area of expertise
- to practice writing better poetry

I think Lauren Hynde's workshop on the Glosa (which is why I pulled it up to the first page today) was successful and that Angeline's mini-lesson on free verse, although not part of the workshop idea, has and continues to be.

I think it's time for another workshop and am just putting feelers out for any proven poets willing to give a month-long workshop. The workshop doesn't have to occupy all of your time during that month, as Lauren's didn't.

Any takers?

I'll be a Green Poet!
UYS?
Sestinas have been beyond me for yrs. Never had any sucess w/ them.

I could do a Tritina which is a similar to a much reduced Sestina or my favourites are the Triolet and Pantoum

Sorry Champs, didn't see it, otherwise would have included you in the initial post.

I guess this post is lame, old news.
Nope, not lame. I think though, we really don't need to organize the spontaneity outta ideas like this. Just jump in and teach us something :).
