Australian swimmer....becomes a promoter's star in a shocking one-piece bathing suit.

No, I didn't watch the film, just surfing channels and happened to glance at that.

At the same time, on the news, 14 year old British boy becomes father, and Gov. Palin's daughter says, "Abstinence does not work..."

"A shocking one-piece bathing suit." Oh, my, what a half century or so can do.

I doubt it possible to get past the feminist movement over the past half century and actually talk about the changes that have occurred over the years. Nor am I certain as to why such a discussion might be useful.

The Muslim world and many Asian societies continue to address women as 'property', restricting their movement and actions and even how they appear in public.

What with television, open to the general public, no pay per view necessary, with women dressed in skimpy costumes with less than enough actual material to make a handkerchief, the stark difference between cultures, powerful cultures, becomes apparent. Even the big 'O' on Fox, defended the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and that was less than hanky coverage.

I suppose this includes public nudity, or something close to it and the aspect of films and television that, not so very long ago, were forbidden to show a man and a woman in bed together.

I can only ask that this not be viewed as a personal opinion, merely as an observation of how things have changed over the years and a curiosity as to the consequences and direction that social more's may take in the future.

I also note that VH1CL, what the hell ever channel that is, is re-running a four part series, "Sex: The Revolution" I think I tuned in and out of that series but I don't recall why.
