2 weeks...LOL I went through almost a full year of training before I got to my first unit.
No we don't we have an all volunteer military.

Meanwhile, US Navy recruits are complaining about how weak their boot camp training is now that it has been made safe for weaker people in society. One sailor writes in the US Naval Institute's Proceedings Magazine that physical exercise periods never get close to raising a sweat and it's said that when a recruit feels stressed he can ask for a time out. One wonders if Bridge Watch "time outs" are behind the recent collisions we've read about. We better hope war doesn't come.

What we have here in China is just a course in college, mostly in the begining of college.

Same story here... Teachers and school leaders don't want to take risk any more, so the kids are getting weaker and weaker.
