I was more interested in the "within" part...like two people who spend so much time working together that they end up in bed together...

Like the female members of mixed sex crews on ships who keep on applying for medical leave for pregnancies?

It sounds like an interesting story, but it would have to be written by someone who had at least some military experience, or it wouldn't be believable?

No. How many people have visited a harem, or been in a police station, to say nothing of lived more than fifty years ago? Yet harem, police and historical stories abound and are believed by readers who themselves have not etc.

I was throwing around ideas a while back of a young, recently married couple where the man was in (whatever branch) the military and the couple lived on base housing. They seem to be a "goodie goodie" 1950's tv couple (Think Dick VanDyke, etc.). The man is very devoted to his job and his wife (maybe a young child or baby on the way?), he's a hard worker and a good man. The woman, on the other hand, has the appearence of the perfect wife and housemother. (Like I said, I don't know how I'd work out the details yet, but even if they didn't have any kids, she's a "stay-at-home-woman" anyway.) All of this "goodie goodie" persona is an act, though, and this young wife is a total slut.

There are many angles to work this story if anyone wants to use this idea.

That's my point. Most of the readers won't either so it doesn't matter. Put it in some mythical military, like the Swiss Navy or Ruritania or somewhere.

I read a story a little while ago that had a Viking Army looking for winter quarters! I gathered from a long email conversation that only two people had complained.

Writers who write things like you mentioned, or at least the ones who write them well, either have some first-hand experience or do some type of research.

I am all for the stories that add realism and minor details. They make a story more believable, and therefore, in my book, more enjoyable.

You can tell the difference between someone who knows and someone who doesn't. For this same reason, actors do research before they do a part...

Exactly!

Nothing makes me click off a story faster than a story that is too far fetched. Even if you write Sci-Fi, you can add details to make your readers believe your world!

Kinda like a story I wrote. It's loosely about a woman having sex with a tiger. Lord knows a human could never have sex with a tiger! You'd be clawed up and eaten (not in the fun way) to death... But... In my story, I make it OBVIOUS that a woman is "day dreaming" while she masturbates.

Details make all the difference!

Quick Scenario

Operation Wolf

Seek an destroy all terrorist activates and demoralise there supporters and cut off all finical support

After being here for 2 months we are fighting the enemy we have just caught a group of 20 men they are trying to plead sympathy after 12 hours of integration they offer the captors a major sauce of there income the officers are taken to a hidden set of caves in the caves are hundreds of women all of which are to be sold into slavery or prostitution the officers and men pick out 60 of the women and set up a brothel for the officers mess and start enjoying the hospitality of the country they shoot the men that took them there and set the remaining women go but one of the officer falls in love with one of the women and takes her as his own but the love is unrequited and she is forced into a permanent state of fear. Just an idea but some knowledge would be needed to do it right .

Nice scenario.

One BIG problem. The current joint action "successes" suggest that they would probably shoot the women, release the men, and try claim a brilliant victory.

I think they would shoot the men, keep the women for sexual pleasure. I was thinking of haveing some American forces captured in Afganistan ( Women and men). They would be foreced to please Al-Queda Troops. Just a thought, your opinion would be great! This is just a fantasy, mind you the US would kick ass reguardless in reality!

Within the ranks is fine. Fratrenization is a bing issue in the military, very taboo and against the rules. Perhaps a officer with two enlisted, or visa versa, in uniform in the desert, your thoughts Michael

If anyone wants my Airforce (or any branch) slut-wife idea, take it. I've been digging through my old stories and think I'm going to work on a role play I once had here and try to turn it into a "full" story.
