There's an extraordinary article on Slate.com about senior active duty military officials having become the proverbial "adults in the room" to corral President Trump and his phalanx of shoot-first police officers.

Trump attempted to dress down the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark A. Milley, who evidently raised his voice right back at Trump and told him he was not going to follow unlawful orders. Trump gave a direct order to the JCS to being in the 82nd Airborne and suppress protestors. Milley said no.

That was extraordinary, but then Milley leaked a memo to conservative Bill Kristol to his direct reports reminding them they took an oath to serve the Constitution, not the President. That is the military equivalent of a slap to the face of Trump.

Every day this past week has been a four star general or admiral taking a shot at Trump. Tomorrow (Sunday), General Colin Powell is expected to make the round of Sunday talk shows criticizing Trump.

The battle lines are being drawn: The military and the Constitution vs. Trump and his out-of-control brownshirt police departments.

How many times does that draft dodging coward think he's going to get away with trying to talk tough to people that would kick his ass in a heartbeat if he wasn't the president??

Once Trump is out of office and people can speak freely, the dumb fucks that supported this idiot are going to find out just how much of a moron he really is.

If people are already starting to tell him to fuck off now, I can only imagine what's coming in the near future.

This should be fun.

I find it rather interesting General Milley is willing to leak his memo to Mr. Kristol, but he refuses to testify before the House Armed Services Committee.

(CNN) Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley have refused to testify next week before the House Armed Services Committee regarding the military's role responding to protests triggered by the death of George Floyd, a Democratic congressional aide confirmed to CNN Friday.

Trump should be more careful.

It's the military who will come in and haul his ass out of there if he refuses to leave office. Maybe he should be nicer to them now.

A couple of hallmarks of the American system are at stake here: civilian control of the military, and the obligation of soldiers to disregard illegal orders.

Fortunately, this conflict rarely comes up because most of our presidents have been both sane and not criminals.

Since Trump was too polite to say it, I'll say it:

The US military is a chocolate teapot with stupid cunt brass. The USA doesn't have global power anymore, so the military really has nothing better to do than play show and tell at home.
